PART THREE: THE STORM...

Thump. Thump. Thump.

The beat of our hearts pounding, rhythmically.

Warm, bright streets.

Hear the laughter, see the smiles.

Splash! Splash! Splash!

Kids jumping on puddles.

Then,

Ta-Thump, Ta-Thump, Ta-Thump.

My pulse raced.

The sudden darkened sky.

Laughter stopped. Confused,

Birds flew away, flapping their wings fast.

In a heartbeat, in a blink of an eye, in a sharp intake of breath,

Lightning cackled, thunder raged, rain poured, wind howling.

It was like a beast was let out from a cage; it was chaos.

People started running for shelters.

Fear formed in many eyes,

The ray of warmth, now all gone,

Leaving only blue lips and shivering icy skin.

It was brutal, wet, cold, it smelt like death.

The rain was not strong, it was harsh, everything was harsh, cold, sharp,

The wind was whining, howling, screaming... Everything was such a mess.

The thunder roared in anger, anguish, for lost, for love, I am not sure.

The lightning struck again, the only light source in darkness,

But the most cruel of all, each strike it makes, it makes you feel very awake and then...

Darkness surrounds you, forever...

The trees are swaying left to right,

The windows of cars, buildings broke, the cries could be heard.

Prayers are made, please let this storm be over,

Let the warmth warm me once again...

But this is just the beginning...

The Storm has arrived...
