The love of one more lover
Warms me more than the love of a believerOh mother;
Did you leave me
Or were you always there
Why did you always care
Even on the days I'd sunk so low
Did it show
On my ghoulish face
When so lost within that place
Where your love would always glow
But you never dared to goSo I would choose another
First to lead
And then to smother
With my strong skeletal hands
Gripped so firmly round their throats
On their last breath my heart dotes
And chokes on this
Ghastly dark developmentHas this dark envelopment
Strangled love from each sweet beat
And wrung from humankind complete
The only human treat I know....
Oh touch
Warm blood on blood
Withheld within the skin its flow
And with dying ember heat
Believe all truth you did not knowWhere now will you go
Without such warm and tender flow
From beneath the suckling teat
And the thin veil of control
How droll
This veil, this sheet
Born of only that you know
All know of lies which stand complete
To cover truth and all its holesSo cruel such truth and then
So sweet this knowledge
So unknown
Lies the truth in many men
That this darkness so has grown
And left us here
Alone again
To beat lone enemy we know
Ourselves
And to this end
Complete we're not
Nor so unwholeAnd as these human hands they reach
To teach in dark
When stood alone
Across black charred lands they beseech
The love they think that all should know
All know not though
Soul-less man
And though still less than whole they can
Understand through dark, and stand
The touch
The warmth
The love of hand
