I know, such a creative title.

This is the 100 follower special!

There's some undercover spy lingo in here, and if you don't feel like figuring it out there's a translation at the bottom.

The first thing I noticed was the hair.

It was like a flame, curling and spitting, unbelievably red. Her and that hair burnt through everything, leaving nothing but ashes and scars in the wake.

All agents had tried and failed to crack her. Torture, undercover, even flirting, nothing worked. She was like a block of granite, hard and unfeeling, every hammer that ever tried to break her shattered.

I was the one they called when things got ugly, I was the one they called for Scarlet Benoit.

She knew I was an agent right when I walked up to her, in an atmosphere of swirling gowns and sparkling champagne. Maybe it was my scars, or my stiff greeting, but I could tell she knew. The way we brown eyes danced with humor and how her blood red fingernails kept tapping against her glass, it was obvious.

She told me her name, even though she knew I already knew it. She wanted to play the game, see how far it went until I cracked.

"I'm on government business," I began, using my cover story. I took out a card and slid it across the bar counter. "The crows are calling again."

Her smirk spoke volumes. "And what, pray tell, do they say?" I didn't answer, just pushed the card closer to her.

She picked it up with two fingers and read it. Her eyebrows arched. Suddenly, she said, "the weathers cloudy."

Oh, she was good.

I leaned in closer to her and glanced to my right. A man and a woman were openly staring at us, but I recognized them, agents from my department. Kai and ... I couldn't remember the girl's name.

"Yes, a bit," I replied, eyeing the two and leaning back. "But I don't think it'll rain."

She didn't relax much, but her voice wasn't lowered when she said, "Chicago, huh?"

I nodded. "Been stormy, they need you."

Kai and the girl finally left, and I glanced at my watch. "Getting late, call me later and we'll talk."

With that, I left.

Would she take the bait? It was hard to say, she looked plenty curious, but not completely void of caution. I guess it depended on how confident she was.

She'd somehow seemed lost as well. Like she had the complete map, but didn't know how to read it.

One things was for certain, I was booking a flight for Chicago.
