My mom was loading the last of the boxes into the truck and we were off. We drove and drove for hours and pasted many things, I had music blaring through my ear buds and ignored the world. When we arrived I examined the house and I carried my things into the brick home, my little sister got to pick her room first and I got the room that was left over. I had my own bathroom and I had chalk board wall, I decided to hang up my posters and put some clothes away. I filled my closet with high waisted jean shorts and crop tops. I put my shoes in the floor of my closet and I placed my vans, converse and sandals all in a line. Tomorrow was Monday and I was starting a new school, senior in high school and starting a new school, I rolled my eyes at the thought. I made up my bed and layed down and called Kennedy. Ring after ring she didn't pick up, I am going to call back later I said to myself. "Brooke!" my little sister called to me from down the hall, "What Zoe?!" I yelled back to her not wanting to leave my bed. I heard loud foot steps run down the hall, "Mom said to come and eat lunch" she said to me popping her head around my door frame, I nodded and slowly got out of bed. I made my way down the stairs and seen my mom had already hung some pictures. I proceeded to the kitchen and sat down. "What's for lunch?" my mom didn't have anything on the stove or in the oven, I looked on the counter tops and there wasn't anything. "Well what do you want to eat? I was thinking about ordering a pizza, sound okay?" she asked, I nodded and stood "I am going to go on a walk down the block maybe, call me when the pizza get's here." I walked out of the front door and walked down the side walk. I took my ear buds out of my pocket and plugged them into my phone, I clicked a random song and let my list play out. I was lost in my own little world, singing along to songs I barely knew and walking down unfamiliar roads. I didn't realize that I was singing pretty loud until I heard a voice behind me, "you  have an awesome voice". I quickly turned to meet the strong gaze of a curly haired boy. "I'm sorry I uh-" he was really cute but I am so awkward around cute guys. "Don't be sorry I love your voice, have you ever thought about being in a band?" I looked down and scratched the back of my head, "no bands aren't really my thing and I don't sing in front of people..." I trailed off trying to end the unwanted conversation I was having with this cute stranger. "So I never did catch your name" the stranger says to me "I'm Brooke I just moved in a couple of houses down from you, "Well maybe I can come and help you unpack soon" I responded with a simple maybe and I was on my way back to my house.

We finished eating the cheese pizza my mom had ordered us and I went upstairs to unpack some photos and more clothes. The afternoon turned into night fall and I began writing a few things on my chalk board. Drawings of a sun with sunglasses on, stars, hearts, the players on the volley ball team, and pictures of me and Kennedy posted everywhere. I layed back on my bed, and felt myself drifting off to sleep, I soon gave into the darkness and let it swallow me whole.
