Marcel had just moved to a new town called Doncaster. He was already a sophomore in high school and was scared about going to a new school. He was never the popular kid. He was a nerd. He made straight A's his whole life without even trying. He wore round glasses, slicked back hair, and his grandfather's hand-me-down clothes. He had never had a girlfriend and never really thought about girls. He had never been like other boys. He was like an eight year old boy.

"Marcel! Come get breakfast! You have to hurry, the school bus will be here any second!" Anne yelled. Anne was Marcel's mother. They had moved to Doncaster after the divorce. It was just Anne, Marcel, and his sister Gemma. Gemma never acknowledged him at school. After all, she was the most popular girl in school. Marcel raced down the stairs and sat down.

"Marcel, you look cute today." Anne chirped as she handed him his breakfast.

"Whatever mom. He looks awful." Gemma replied.

"Go screw yourself Gemma." Marcel replied as he grabbed his bookbag. "Love you mom."

"Love you too Marcel. Have a wonderful day!"

Marcel walked down to the bus stop to see a few kids waiting. He stood a little ways off, trying to steer clear from the other kids. Gemma passed him and walked right up to the other kids and introduced herself. "Fuck her." Marcel mumbled.

The bus pulled up and the doors flew open. Everyone got on and Marcel reluctantly followed them. He sat in the front row, far from the other kids. They were all loud and seemingly annoying. Marcel stared out the window, trying to memorize the way home so that if the bus got too crazy, he could walk home.

The bus pulled up to the school. Marcel took a deep breath and got off of the bus as quick as he could. He walked through the front doors and pulled out his schedule. "Alright." He thought to himself. "Room 301." Marcel's first class of the day was Physics. He walked in and looked for an empty seat. He went over to the one closet to the teacher on the front row. That was a bad idea. The teacher walked up and hushed the class.

"Okay everyone, we have a new student. Will you please stand up and introduce yourself?"

"Um, I guess. My name is Marcel Styles." Marcel awkwardly sat back down and heard a few giggles in the back. Marcel ran his fingers through his hair and pulled out his new Physics book.

An hour and a half later, the bell rang. Marcel scurried out and pulled out his schedule. "Okay, next is drama class." Marcel had a passion for acting and singing. He was too afraid to sing in front of anyone except his mom, though. He was an okay actor and made a good grade in drama. He walked in to the giant class and kind of felt better. Drama class was always full of friends. It was usually the only way Marcel could make friends.

The teacher stopped Marcel and asked to see his schedule. "Ah, well welcome Marcel. I am your teacher, Mrs. Dills. You can sit anywhere you'd like. Marcel grabbed a seat and sat next to a seemingly nice looking boy.

"Oh, hi. I'm guessing you're new?"

"Huh?" Marcel turned towards the voice belonging to the boy next to him.

"My name is Louis. What's yours?"

"Marcel. Marcel Styles."

"Well, where are you from, Marcel Styles?"

"I'm from Chesire. I'm sorry if I don't, um, talk much. I'm kind of awkward."

"Ah, well that's fine. I'll try and break you out of your shell. Do you want to sit with me at lunch? I could introduce you to a few of my friends."

"Uh, sure. Thank you." Marcel contained his smile. He had made a friend on the first day. Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as he thought. Mrs.Dills walked to the front of the class.

"Okay everyone. We have a new student today." She pointed to Marcel. "This is Marcel Styles. I expect everyone to be nice and welcome him." Louis elbowed Marcel and winked.

"Marcel, I think we'll be great friends." Louis whispered. Marcel smiled. He was excited about his new friend. He knew that this was just the beginning of something good.
