Chapter 26 (Day 21)

Eugene's POV

I'm a wreck. Maria was my everything. But now she's gone. I walked along the shore line of the beach. I saw this girl sitting on the beach crying. I ran towards her and got down to her level.

"Hi I'm Eugene. Are you ok?" I asked. She turned to look at me. It was Jo.

"Eugene, it's me Jo." She said.

"Why are you crying?"

"I'm still upset that Kendall dumped me."

"Maria dumped me too and now she's dating Kendall."

"We should try to break them up!"

"Wouldn't that be bad?"

"But then they would have someone to fall back on. Us. What do you say, partners?"

"Partners." I shook Jo's hand and we started coming up with a plan.

Maria's POV

Kendall and I were making a cake and let's say...it wasn't going as planed. First we put too much flour and too much sugar. Then we started making out for a bit then the cake started burning. Now we had some kind of lopsided mutant cake.

"You know what would make it look better. Some decorations!" Kendall said. He took out sprinkles, frosting and all kinds of cake decorating stuff. I started on whipped cream. I was spreading it on the side when Kendall sprayed me with the whipped cream. I screamed and glared at him on the ground laughing. I sprayed his face and threw sprinkles on him. He started to spray whipped cream on me and he missed spraying the cake. We started throwing all kinds of decorations like gummy bears, honey grams, and all kinds of sprinkles. When we were done we looked like we went to cake boss. Kendall's whole face was full of the cream and decorations. My face probably looked a mess cause Kendall was laughing at me. We looked over at the cake. It looked so fucked up I couldn't explain it.

"This cake looks terrible." I said starting to tear up.

"Aww, don't cry Maria. It looks perfect in my eyes." Kendall said.

"What do you mean?"

"It looks beautiful because we made it." He kissed my lips and his were covered in frosting. We pulled apart and I smiled at the cake. We took a picture and the cut out a piece for each of us. We took a bite and it tasted like heaven!

"OMG! We have to give a piece to everyone!" I said. Do we did until the cake was finished. After we ate the cake everyone went their separate ways. Kendall went to sleep and I decided to try to get his job back. I drove Kendall's car to see Gustavo. When I got to the studio Gustavo was seriously stressed.

"Umm...Gustavo?" I said.

"I need him back!" He screamed.

"Who?"

"Kendall! It was a mistake. You and Kendall look happy enough together and plus you two are hard workers. It could work."

"So what you're saying is that you want to give Kendall his job back?"

"Yes, yes I do."

"Ok, I'll tell him. See you when I see you Gustavo." I got in Kendall's car and drove to the Palmwoods. I walked up to my apartment and saw Charlie and Ciara.

"Hey guys, how was New York?" I asked. Charlie looked at me with sad eyes and handed me a vase. I was confused but there was a note on the vase. I read

Dear Maria,

Its me Rhonda, Max's aunt. You made Max's life so happy. Even when his parents and sister died. You were there to fix him. Now that he's past on I want you to have the ashes of his heart, cause you'll always have his heart.

Rhonda.

I put the vase down and started crying. Max's heart ashes were in this vase. The last part I have of him. I didn't hear it but Charlie and Ciara went to their room. I looked at the clock it was 4. I decided I would hide the ashes and go see the guys. I dried my tears and went into the apartment. Kendall was still asleep and so was everyone else but Carlos.

"Carlos." I said my voice barely above a whisper. He turned to me and saw I was crying.

"Oh no. Maria why are you crying?" He asked coming over to me.

"I got the ashes of Max's heart today. His aunt wanted me to have it. I still miss him." I sobbed.

"But you have Kendall now. You should forget about Max and think all about Kendall cause he's here for you."

"But I still miss Max."

"I know and it's ok to miss him. But he's gone and Kendall's here. Love him."

"Thanks Los."

"No prob." I walked into my apartment and laid down on my bed.

*Maria's dream*

I was in a field of wheat when I saw a smoking car. I ran to the car and someone stepped out of the car and I saw it was Max. He had blood running down the corner of his forehead and cuts all over his body. He had a piece of metal right through his stomach. He looked down and then pulled out the metal. I cringed at the sight and he looked at me with those blue eyes.

"Maria." He said. I walked toward him slowly. Once I was right in front of him I hugged him and he hugged back.

"Max, it's really you." I whispered.

"I've been watching you Maria. I'm your guardian angle" He said.

"I miss you."

"And I you. Don't let me ruin your future. Love who you want without worrying about me. I'm might be dead, but I'm not gone. I'll always be in your heart."

"I know, but it's so hard to let go."

"Then, let me. Maria we never broke up so, to make things official. Maria Richards, I am breaking up with you." I broke down in tears. I knew he was dead and all but but it's hurts to face the facts. Max my dead now ex boyfriend is here. I'm seeing him.

"Maria, I'm sorry but I'm dead. You can't let me burden your heart. I gotta go now." He said. A bright void appeared and Max started walking into it.

"Max no! Please at least stay with me!" I screamed.

"I'll always be in your heart." Then he was gone.

*End Of Dream*

I woke up sobbing and suddenly there was a peace in my heart. I sat and tried to stop myself from crying. I stopped crying and then Kendall came in.

"Hey." He said. He sat on my bed and held me.

"Whats wrong babe?" He asked concerned.

"I just love you so much and I never, EVER want to see another death." I said.

"Err...ok? I don't know where this is coming from but I love you too baby." He kissed me and I looked at the clock. It was 8 o'clock.

"I'm gonna take a shower." I said to Kendall.

"Take your time." He replied. I took a shower and when I came out Kendall was asleep on the bed. I smiled, got dressed and slept next to him. He pulled me close and I wrapped around his torso.

"I love you." He whispered kissing me lips softly.

"I love you too." I replied against his lips. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
