Chapter 28 (Day 23)

Charlie's POV

I woke up in a dark room tied up and gagged. I turned to hear muffled screams. They sounded like Ciara. Just then the lights came on and I saw Jo and Eugene walk out. They ungagged us and Jo said

"Ok, which one of you wanna die?" Ciara and I stayed silent.

"Ok, I'll pick." She said.

"Ciara it's you." She finally said. Ciara's eyes got wide and tears started to drop from her eyes.

"No, no, choose me instead!" I said.

"It's ok you're both gonna die." She replied. I looked over at Eugene who was just standing there.

"Eugene! Don't let her do this, please." I begged. Ciara was still crying hysterically.

"Eugene wants what I want so he agrees!" Jo said.

"Why do you wanna kill us?" Ciara sobbed.

"Oh, I'm not gonna kill you. Kendall is." Jo said. Kendall that bastard.

"He's part of this too?" I asked.

"No. I want Kendall back and Eugene wants Maria back. So once Kendall goes for a drive with Maria we're gonna put you in a different car all tied up and you'll drive into Kendall's car, which will cause them to swerve right into Ciara. And since Kendall will be driving shell blame it all on him." Jo explained. I sighed and tried to stop the tears from spilling out my eyes. We're gonna die.

Kendall's POV

I woke up next to a tear streaked face Maria. It took me like forever to get her asleep last night. She's really worried about Charlie and Ciara. She wouldn't go to sleep till 4 crying. I looked at the clock and it was 10 o'clock. Maria would probably be asleep for a while so I showered brushed my teeth and got dressed. I called Carlos.

"Hey Carlos. Can you do me a favor?" I asked him.

"Sure buddy, what?" He asked.

"Will you go ring shopping with me?"

"R-ring shopping?! Are you gonna ask Maria to marry you?"

"Yeah. Today if we find the right ring."

"Ok I'll be in the parking lot in like 5 minutes."

"Ok, see you then." I hung up the phone and checked on Maria one more time. She was now cuddling a pillow. I smiled at her and blew a kiss. I got down to the parking lot and Carlos was already there.

"Well, come on now." He said. I got in the drives seat and Carlos in the passengers. We got to Kay's jewelry store and I parked the car. There was a young woman at the desk. Probably around my age.

"Hi how may I help you gentlemen?" She asked.

"Hi I'm looking for engagement rings." I said.

"Well, if you would just follow me gentlemen." We followed her to the side of the store where there was a wide array of engagement rings.

"You can just look through these." The woman said. She left and we started looking at the rings. I saw this silver band with diamonds in it. After 45 minutes of searching there was one that really caught my eye. It was a silver and gold ring that criss crosses with a big diamond in it. "Carlos, this is it. This is the one." I said.

"Really!?" He asked.

"Yeah. Lets go buy it." We called the woman to the casher and bought the ring.

"Congratulation!" She said as we left the store.

"So when are you gonna propose?" Carlos asked.

"Tonight over dinner." I smiled. I just hoped she said yes. I know she'd been through a lot. Carlos and I drove home and it was already 12. I walked into Maria's apartment and she was still asleep. I walked to my apartment and put the ring under my bed. I walked back to Maria's apartment and woke her up.

"Kendall, what's wrong?" She groaned.

"I'm taking you out today at 5. I know how long it takes for you to get ready." I said.

"Oh Kendall, I can't wait!"

"Well, start getting ready. This will be a date you'll never forget." She ran to the bathroom to shower and brush her teeth. I ran to my apartment. Carlos and Logan there. Perfect.

"Hey guys. I got an announcement to make." I said. Logan looked at me confused but Carlos just smiled.

"I'm gonna propose to Maria." I said. Their mouths were opened wide.

"Are you serious?" Logan asked.

"As a heart attack." I said.

"Well, congrats man." Logan said. "Thanks." I replied. We talked about stuff for a while and then I went to Maria's apartment. It was 3 and she was just getting out the shower. She had on a towel and her hair was dripping down her back. Even though she was wet I still wend and wrapped my arms around her waist from behind.

"Hey cutie." I said.

"Kendall. I gotta get ready. I only have two more hours left." She whined. I gave her a kiss and went for James. He could come home today. When I got to the hospital I went to James's room. He was dressed and waiting in the chair.

"Hey man." He said hugging me.

"Sup. You feeling better." I asked.

"Yeah."

"Good. I'm proposing to Maria at our date at 5 so we gotta go."

"Whoa, really?!"

"Yeah come on." We got in the car and were home by 4. I got dressed in my tuxedo and slipped the ring into my coat pocket. This would be a night to remember.

Maria's POV

I flat ironed my hair and did my nails. Now all I had to do was put on the dress and makeup. I had a purple floor length dress and matching heels. I put on my purple earrings and purple head band. I put on purple lipstick and a little blush and mascara. Once I was done I walked out and saw a note on the ground. I picked it up and it read

I bet you look radiant as every my dear Maria. Please meet me down stairs at my red jeep.

I walked to the parking lot and Kendall was there waiting at the car in a tux. We got in the car and started driving.

"I'm so excited." I said.

"Me too. I have a big surprise for you." He replied kissing my hand. When we passed the green light a car rammed into as at full speed. We swerved and the other car went into a pole. The whole side of Kendall's door was smashed up. He was still swerving when I saw a little girl was gonna get hit. I screamed and we hit the girl then the car flipped over a couple if times landing on Kendall's side. I had closed my eyes for what seemed like 5 seconds but was actually 5 minutes. I looked over to see Kendall's forehead with a gash over it and his whole face and body was full of blood. I screamed and screamed for help. Eventually I heard sirens in a distance. They came over here to help Kendall and I out the car.

"Ma'am are you ok?" A woman asked me. I shook my head no. They put me on a gurney and put me in an ambulance. I saw them take away Kendall, Ciara, and Charlie. None of them were breathing. I started to feel myself getting sleepy and I drifted into a deep sleep.
