chapter 3
MEGAN'S POV
"Hello Mrs. L," Anna said sweetly. She was always a better butt-kisser than I was. "We're here to discuss Megan's tutor," she said, going into business mode. I giggled slightly at the receptionist's confused expression.
"What seems to be the problem, dear?" Mrs. L, an older, happy lady, turned to me with concern.
"Well, it's just that... ummm..." I wasn't quite sure how to phrase this.
"Megan was wondering if there were any other tutors available," Anna interjected.
"And what's wrong with the one you have now?"
"Well, you see," Anna paused to turn to me, giving me a sympathetic look. Oh no. "Megan here doesn't really feel comfortable with spending so much time alone with a boy..."
I kicked Anna in the shin, keeping a fake smile plastered on my face the whole time. They were probably going to laugh about me in the teacher's lounge now.
"Oh, well I'm sorry dear, but we haven't got any other tutors available," Mrs. L said with a frown. "I'm very sorry..."
"Umm... ok..." I mumbled, not sure what I was supposed to say next.
"Well..." Anna said. For once she was speechless, unsure of how to fix this.
"Thanks for your time," I said, trying to sound sweet. Inside I was fuming, but I remained nice on the outside. This was just great.
"So, I'm still stuck with Marcel, PLUS I look like a boy-fearing idiot..." I said to my best friend. "Gee thanks, Anna," I said sarcastically.
"Hey, not my fault!" She held up her hands in defense. I sighed overdramatically. I knew it wasn't her fault, but I was just so frustrated.
"Well, I guess there's only one thing to do," I said, hating what I was about to say.
"Move to a different high school and hope Marcel never finds you...?" Anna suggested. I chuckled at her joke, then got a little more serious.
"Nope, I'm just going to have to suck it up and do this," I pouted. I guess I had to put my big girl pants on and handle this myself. Those One Direction tickets were important to me, and I knew that if I didn't raise my grade then my parents would sell them. I had to do this.
****
What would you do for One Direction tickets? I would do just about anything... have any of you seen them in concert already?? Because I haven't yet but I'm hoping to next year...
Anyway hope you're liking it so far. I know it's not very good yet, but the interesting parts are coming, trust me!
