"Lucas?" I question.

"I here you like Gardner." He smirks.

I can't believe he heard that, I can already feel my cheeks getting hot.

I stare in awe as he jogs back to class. I glance over to Maya with fear burning in my eyes, she just laughs and takes another towel to clean my face.

{Humiliation}

Lucas Friar knows.
He knows.
I know he knows.
Maya knows he know.
Fear.
Fear. It's a word I never thought much about, mostly because I never had to.
Occasional nightmares still hadn't made me ever feel as scared as I do right now. If Lucas wasn't friends with Charlie I would still have a minor heart attack, but Lucas is best friends with Charlie meaning a full on heart attack is what's happening to me while sitting in my bay window with Maya.

"Honey, everything's fine, Charlie doesn't know you like him, and even if he did how bad can that be?" Maya has been trying to convince me things are "going to be okay" all afternoon, I'm not so sure.
"Maya, I-" I start, but she interrupts me.
"Riles, I can't fix this problem, but all you need to do is get a goodnight sleep and talk to Lucas tomorrow."
I just nod as she slips out my window.
"See you tomorrow." I mumble, she waves.
I stare into the night sky, the beautiful stars glow above all the tall buildings, I like to count how many buildings light up from the moon. Each night a new building gets a chance to shine for the first time, one day I'll shine as bright as they do.

{Deal}

6th period. Lunch. Meaning time to talk to Lucas Friar.
"How do I even get him to talk to me." I whine, Maya gives me a look, Farkle looks scared.
"I have an idea." She says her eyes sparkling, that's never good.
"Hey Friar!" She yells,
"Come here!" She finishes.
He slowly walks over,
"My friend Riley needs to talk to you."
"Okay, what do you need Riley?"
I look at Maya helplessly, she gives me a look, I know I have no choice but to speak. I stand up and start.
"Look about yesterday-" I begin to say,
"Don't worry about it." He says.
"I won't anymore." I say blushing lightly.
I start to sit back down, he stops me.
"I need a favor."
"And that is?"
"Well it's more of a deal." My eyebrows furrow together signaling him to continue, because I don't understand.
"I'll help you get Gardner...... If you help me pass history." He breathes out.
"What?" I say
"Look, I'm failing history and I know your really good at it. Plus I know how you can get Charlie to go out with you." I search my brain for a response but Maya answers for me.
"She would love to help you, and she would love the help with Charlie. You will go to her house every Saturday afternoon until you both reach your goal, agreed?"
We both nod.
"Then it's settled, you will see each other Saturday." She says confidently. I give Lucas a warm smile, he grins then sits back down with his friends. Farkle and I just stare at Maya.

I'm about to have a very interesting Saturday.
