We got onto the highway and drove for over a hundred miles. Way out of town. Almost no cars in sight. But you still have to be wary.
We made it to a extremely well kept rest stop. There were proghorns jumping around and loose cattle everywhere. "I'm going to get one of those bad boys in a bit." Alec said pointing towards one of the bigger antelope.
It was sometime around 2am.
I yawned. "I am. One hundred percent ready for a nap." we dont get full nights rest. We sleep in intervals. We take shifts watching each others back. Its how a family works.

It was pretty dark in the lot. I could barely make out a silhouette in the parking lot. Thinking it was a zombie i rose from bed on the floor.
Once i got a little closer i realized it was a woman about the same age as Jenna and i. She had short, shoulder length raven hair, that was topped with a black cowboy hat.
The others took notice as well. Jenna was the one to talk first. "Uh. Hi?"
"Howdy." she had a deep southern accent.
I cooed a little bit, Toby elbowed me. "Fuck off, tobias." i snapped.
Alec looked at her as i threat. I didn't. No one should be travelling alone. Even if they prefered to wander by themself.
"Alec..." i trailed. "Chill the fuckin fuck out, dude."
"I'm not lookin for trouble. If thats what y'all are thinkin."
"Alec... Takes awhile to warm up to people."
Alec hmph-ed in agreement. The kid had trust issues.
"I'm Veronica. Most jus' call me Ronnie though."
Jenna and i stuck our hands out at the same time. Obviously both interested in Ronnie.
"I'm Kendal, thats jenna, Erica, alec , illias and, Toby."
Ronnie looked over Erica. She was totally checking her out. Not going to lie. Ronnie was hot. But she showed a lot of interest in Erica.
"Oh and whats your name.. alec. I was with people. Before they all got fucking stupid. Thanks"
