-This whole chapter is in Mitch's POV-

I heard him. I ran.
I hid in my closet.
My heart was beating hard.
I held my breath.
I heard my bedroom door open.

"Come out come out wherever you are..!"

His voice sent goosebumps up my arm.
I heard him walk around in my room.
I heard him knock over my vase.
crash-

"Oops?"

I wanted to run out and scream at him. I wanted to scream, "Let me go!!! What's wrong with you?!!" in his face.
I laughed out loud at the thought.
Uh oh.

His foot steps stopped. Then....

....crrrrreeeaaaaaakkkkk

"Found you."

I woke up, screaming.
Eric, who was sleeping next to me, awoke with a start. "Jesus, Mitch!"

I shivered and shivered. He saw me.
He turned on his bedside lamp. "Mitch? What's wrong?"

"I...I....." Tears streamed out of my eyes.
Eric rolled over and hugged me quietly.
"It's okay..shh..."

"I saw him....I..I saw.....!" I whispered into his chest. My heart kept beating.

"I know, I know. Shhhh..."

I kept on crying. A million questions came to my head as I did.
Why can't I get over that night?
Why did I still have nightmares about it?
Why did the universe hate me so much?
Why did it happen to me?
Why does everything have to happen to me?!!

"Why, why? WHY?!!!!!" I sobbed. Eric held me. "I'm so sorry Mitch. I really am."

I was so greatful to have him next to me.
I knew Eric was the only one who could understand me.
No one else did.

I closed my eyes, thinking of my olden days.

-flashback fla la la-

"Mitch? can you come here for a moment?"

"Yes memaw?" I had asked my grandma.

"I want to read you a story." She had said.
She read me Hansel and Gretel. After the book ended, I asked her, "Memaw? You will never leave me, right?"

"What?"

"In the story. Hansel's mother left them in the woods. You won't leave me, right?"

She laughed nervously. "Honey. I'm an old lady. I'll have to go someday."

"But you won't, right?"

"Uhm, Mitch.Yes, the woman in the story leaves the kids, but when they come back, their father was there, waiting for them.
When one leaves, a better is waiting for you. Like Hansel's father."

"But you won't..right?"

"Oh dear gawd, No Mitch. I won't leave you!"

I was to young to understand what Memaw ment by her story.

And a few months passed.
