"You bastard!" I yelled, hitting the man in the face. "You poisoned him!!"

Alburt laughed. "You saw my little radioactive party? Awesome, huh?"

"Yeah awesome, as in, I'm awesomely gonna shove my fist in your face!"

He made a tsking sound. "Shoving fists in people's faces aren't awesome. It's rude."

"And putting radioactive juices in people isn't?"

"Oh but you don't care about him, do you?"

I frowned. "What are you talking about?"

"If you really cared about him, you'd be there, by his side. He needs you right now. He's probably at the hospital now, having surgery."

I stared. "What?"

"Radioactive juices you say? Well once radioactive juices spill, they bring quite an impact to the person. The impacts are gonna show up about...."

He smiled. "Now."

I laughed. "Yeah right."

Alburt snatched my phone out of my hands and dialed Mitch. Stupid no password phone.
"Well let's just find out then!" He said.

The phone rang once, twice, three times. I waited, lips dry. Then..

"Hello?"

A girl's voice. Alburt grinned.

"Hi! Is Mitch Grassi there?" He asked.

"Oh are you his parent or guardian?"

"I am."

"Well he's at the OR, getting surgery. I'm the nurse. You'd better come right now. I hear it has something to do with radioactives."

"Mmm. Interesting. Okay then. Bye."

I blinked. He was right.

My Mitch was getting the most important surgery of his life and I wasn't there for him.

I whipped up, grabbing my phone. I started to run, but stopped when I heard Alburt say into his phone;

"Hey Gus. You at the house like I told you? Yeah it's the one with the red roof...Yeah yeah. Break the door down. There'll be two girls and one boy."

I stared, not even daring to swallow.

"Kill them all."

I shrieked.
The house with the red roof.
Alex's house.

Alburt had sent his men to kill Alex and his family.

I had to go and help.
But Mitch needed me.
He had surgery.

Just then my phone rang. It was Alex.

I looked up at Alburt and he shrugged, smirking.

"Answer it." He laughed.

".....Hello..?"

"Scott it's me. Alex."

He sounded so calm. Like nothing was happening. Like he was just calling for tea.

"Yeah what's up?" I asked, my hands shaking.

"I...I just wanted to say..."

Silence.

"..Forget what I said back at the hospital. You know, me loving you? Be happy with Mitch. Promise me that. Be happy."

Tears streamed down my face. "Y...Yeah. Okay..What are you doing right now...?"

Alex gulped. "Oh you know. Just...stuff. Important stuff. I..." He sniffed. "I have to go now Scott. I'm sure you're busy with Mitch."

"Yeah. I kinda am."

Alburt raised an eyebrow.

"Okay. Sorry for bothering you."

"Yeah it's okay. Okay..."

"Good bye Scott."

I closed my eyes. "Yeah." I said.

"Good bye."

The call ended and I fell to the ground, sobbing. Alburt made tsking noises.

"Tsk. Why'd you have to kill a guy, Scott?"

I tried to wipe the tears away. "I know...I killed him. I knew he was going to die but....but I pretended not to know. I.."

I let out a shaky breath. "He's dead, isn't he?"

"Yes. And now that you gave away one life, I'm gonna wait so you can save one. Go. Go to the hospital."

I nodded. "Yes. You're right."

I stood and ran.
