~~MAY BE A TRIGGER WARNING~~
((Ryan's P.O.V.))
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, tapping my fingers on the hard wood of the old counter as the work day slowly slowed down.
Russ had the day off so... that just left me to take care of the store, meaning I had to make sure was still in order.
I just wanted the day to end so I could talk to Felix again...
The bell on the door rang, and I looked up, seeing a wide-eyed Russ.
"RYANITHAPPENEDTHISGIRLHEREYESWEREGREENANDHERHAIRANDOHMYGODWHATDOIDO???"
I blinked and looked at him, "alright, Russ slow down. What happened? What girl?"
The brunette took a deep breath before trying again. "I met a girl and her eyes were green. Then I saw her hair, it was the brightest red you could imagine!"
"So you're saying you saw color?" I asked, still playing dumb about being able to see color.
He nodded quickly, his eyes glowing with excitement.
"How many people have you told?"
He but his lip, "just you, actually. Why?"
I shook my head and waved my hand dismissively. "Well, I would ask her out, Russ. Don't want her getting away, now do we?"
He shook his head and chucked softly, then looked at me, "woah Ryan your hair color is cool. It's like this brown-"
Be stopped mid sentence, his eyes wide and his breath catching in his throat in a gasp.
I went over to him, "what happened? What's up?"
"It's... i-it's Grey again...?"
My eyes widened as it hit me.
The world snaps back to gray when your soul mate dies...
I blinked, then looked at Russ with sad eyes. "I'm... I'm sorry Russ.."
He looked at me with a worried expression, "what does that mean?!"
"It means she's... she's gone. She's dead, Russ."
The color drained from his face, and his hands started shaking. "But I.... I-I just saw her ten minutes ago!!"
I exhaled, "I'm so sorry..."
His gaze fell to the ground and his eyes became clouded over, almost looking lifeless. "No.... N-No... Damn it!!"
I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around him in a caring embrace.
But one thing bothered me, how had she died so suddenly?
What caused her to go that fast? Car crash? Dare I say a heart attack?
I sighed and bit my lip as the sinking feeling grew in my stomach, and for some reason. I didn't feel safe.
I felt as if of anything got out... something bad would happen.
I bit my tongue and looked back at Russ, sighing, "it's gonna be alright, man... you're going to be okay..."
He nodded and pulled away from.me slightly, his eyes still glazed over, "Thanks, Ryan... it's closing time... go home..." He mumbled, his voice flat and lackluster.
I blinked before nodding, "okay... you gonna be okay?"
"Yeah... I'm fine."
I knew that was a lie.... but I didn't press it. I bit my lip, and slowly made my way out the door, shoving my hands in my pockets as I slowly walked.
God it seems that... ever since I met Felix, weird things have been going on. All these bad, taboo feelings, that girl dying suddenly, Felix getting that warning from his brother...
Something's going on, and I don't like it...
I glanced around, sighing as I took in all the colors of the world I live in.
Greens, blues, reds, grays, purples, pinks, oranges...
I bit my lip and looked back down at my feet.
I don't wanna lose this.... I don't wanna lose him...
I'm sorry it had to be done for plot.
RIP
Red. You will be missed...
