My agitation hadn't faded as I entered training room. Katherine was there as usual.

She rushed over to me worried. But for some strange reason I was angry at her.

"You knew didn't you?" This caught her off gaurd . She looked extremely guilty but didn't say anything.

I sighed. This wasn't her fault, she couldn't stop Alysa anyway. She is just a mentor. My care taker. My Trainor.

I sat on the small backless seat at the corner of the room stretching my fingers and warming them up.

"I heard you were hungry , so I made you a grilled chicken cheese sandwich"

Katherine came towards me with a small smile and a plate.

I was going to decline but my stomach growled in protest. So I grabbed the plate and started munching on the sandwich instead.

"So.. what are we going to practice today?" I questioned her about my training session

"Obstacle course."

I groaned. Obstacle courses weren't difficult but surprising.

-----------------
I watched the delicate flames of fire dance on my fingertips.

They intertwined. A glow of blue and orange, flickering tall and short.

Fire is the most fascinating thing in the world and being able to control it is amazing.

"It indeed is"

I jumped a little when Katherine's voice brought me out of my trance

"I said it out loud, didn't I ?"

"You did, but absentmindedness is not appreciated you know" she said pointedly.

"I'm sorry Katherine" I gave her a sheepish smile and she smiled back

"Ready?"

" I was born ready"

"You are to complete this course in exact five minutes, go!"

I took off, running in the directions of the arrows.

The entire path was twisted with lots of small dug out holes. I increased my speed turning a sharp right heading into the open field.

As soon as I stepped out the real obstacles came into my sight.
There were shooting arrows coming my way.

I ducked the first two. Jumped on the right wishing the next for next one to pass by but the arrow whipped past too close to me and I had to roll on the ground.

I started rolling on the ground. As soon as I was out of the area of arrows I was back on my feet heading for the wall which seemed to be an illusion

There were blocks of bricks punching out of the wall restricting my movements to climb it.

I put a foot on the brick and managed to push myself over just before the brick went back into the wall.

I started running, enjoying this obstacle course.

I dove into the pool, swimming lower and going deeper in the mermaid way.

I reached the bottom end of the 12 feet deep pool and spotted the red button indicating the end of the course.

But It was locked and required a key, I looked around for a key and noticed it a few feet away .

I unlocked it pressed the button before swimming back up and pulling myself out of the water.

Katherine stood there smiling at the watch.

"3m30s impressive! You are getting better and better at this!"

"It's all your training Katherine, but you didn't tell me there was pool in it. I wet my clothes." I pout and she just shrugs.

"You have to be prepared for any thing, how about another round in less than 3 mins?"

" Ummm... Katherine .. how about a break?"

"You want to change?"

"Yeah" I answered, and left when Katherine nodded.

I was in a open roof cafe ordering
Coffee when I saw him again.

I growled at seeing him and he smirked again.

Game on.

I stuck out my leg trying to trip him but he retorted verbally

"Oohh, look somebody wet their pants seeing me" I glanced down at my still drying clothes and snarled at him

He just snicked. And that was the last straw.

I threw my coffee at his face. Before lunging at him and locking his head in my elbow. I kicked his calf to have him bent over. I lowered myself near his ear and whispered

"I can be worse than this. Watch out"

With that I left him shouting " in your dreams girl!"

And then mutter "Damn she's good"

I wouldn't have been able to tackle him if it weren't for the coffee that acted as an element of surprise.
