Overreacting

*Zayn's POV*

I was in one of the guest rooms getting ready for the dinner tonight.

Me and Bri agreed not to see each other getting ready, or tonight. Which means that we won't be sleeping together tonight. I don't even think we're aloud to sit together at dinner. All of these 'being apart' traditions are stupid!

I was kinda nervous, but this is a special family dinner. This is the last time we'll all be together for a while.

We'll have our honeymoon, and then we go on tour.

I know that Brylin will accept my invitation to come. We wouldn't want to be apart for 5 months.

After I finished, I jumped in a car and took off, hoping to get there before B.

Which, I had no idea if she was still here, or at the restaurant.

I'm hoping this dinner will be fun.

When I later reached the restaurant, I walked in and she wasn't there.

I know, I'm weird, I just want to be here when she gets here.

I greeted my family, and her parents.

I was sitting down, talking to my youngest sister, Safaa.

She was asking me what Brylin was like and what we did at home, because we didn't live with my family.

My sisters have met Brylin around 4 times. We are always so busy.

Safaa poked me and said, "There she is now, Zayn."

I turned around and got up out of my chair.

"Long time no see." I said.

"You saw me this morning." She said, looking down and smiling.

"You look so beautiful." I said, stroking her cheek.

"I barely did anything." She said, looking up at me.

"Exactly." I said, smiling.

I put my arm around her back and guided her over to the table.

I pulled out a chair and my sister Doniya said, "Ah ah ah, you guys aren't aloud to sit together."

"Shut up Doniya." I muttered.

Brylin laughed and I sat down next to her.

I saw my mom glaring at me and I mouthed a 'what'.

'You aren't supposed to sit together' She mouthed back.

'We are sitting together' I mouthed back.

"Zayn, it's fine. I can sit somewhere else." Brylin whispered in my ear.

"No, we're sitting together. All of these traditions of us being apart are stupid." I replied.

I knew I was overreacting about this, but I don't care. It's stupid and meaningless.

"Fine." She muttered back.

I knew she wanted to make our families happy.

"You're doing fine." I reassured her, squeezing her hand.

She looked up and gave me a small nod.

•After Dinner•

I hugged Brylin and she left, taking her sister along.

*Brylin's POV*

I dropped Jen off at home and told her that I would be right back.

I gave her my overnight bag and she went inside.

"Brylin, you can't go home, that's where Zayn is." She warned.

"I won't. Don't worry about it." I explained.

I picked up my phone and searched for the nearest, best tattoo shop in town.

10 minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot of a good tattoo shop.

I parked and locked my car and went inside.

"Hello, what may I help you with today?" A man asked.

"I would like to get two tattoos." I replied.

"Okay, right this way, Kelly will be your consultant." He said.

"Okay." I said, following him into a room.

"Hi, I'm Kelly." Kelly said.

"Hi, I'm Brylin." I replied.

The man walked away, closing the curtain as he left.

"Okay, so what do you have in mind today?" Kelly asked.

"Well, I'm getting married tomorrow and I want to get my fiancé's name tattooed on." I explained.

"Congratulations. We can do that. Mac said that you wanted two, what about the other one?" She asked.

"Well, a year ago my daughter died in a car crash on her 2nd birthday, and I want to get her initials on." I explained.

"Oh I'm so sorry." Kelly said.

"It's okay." I replied, holding back a few tears.

"Okay, which one goes first?" She asked, putting on her gloves.

"Um, I want my daughter's initials HCJ on my lower back." I explained.

"Ok. We can do that." She said before I took off my shirt, leaving on my white tank top I had on underneath.

I picked out my font and colors and she did as I wanted.

I sat there for 30 minutes, through all pain.

"Okay, ready for the next one?" She asked.

"Yes please." I said before taking a sip out of my complimentary water bottle.

I then spent an hour in pain, after I picked my font and color for getting Zayn's name tattooed on my upper back, lower neck.

She gave me a mirror and I fell in love with my new and first tattoos.

I put my shirt back on and grabbed my purse, standing up.

"Thank you so much. This means a lot." I said.

"No problem, it was my pleasure." She replied with a smile.

"Okay, where do I pay?" I asked.

"You don't. It's on the house." She said.

"Oh, you don't have to do that." I said, beaming with joy.

"C'mon, you're getting married, and you lost your baby. It's the least I can do." She said.

"Thank you so much." I replied.

"You're welcome. Bye!" She said.

"Bye!" I said, walking out the door and to my car.

I drove back home and showed my tattoos to my sister, and we fell asleep peacefully, dreaming excitedly about tomorrow.
