You called your best friend, Ethan, one afternoon after school.

"Ethan?" You asked.

"Yeah, yo wassup?" He said.

"I need to talk to someone. It's urgent." You mumbled and then continued, "can I come over?"

"Sure, of course. I'll see you soon babe." He spoke and hung up.

You'd recently fallen out with one of your "best friends" over something so stupid but she didn't believe you. Now, to make it worse, your boyfriend was treating you like shit.

Knocking on the door, you fidgeted nervously until Ethan answered. You greeted him with a hug and he lead you to his room.

"Come on, talk to me." He smiled, taking your hand in his.

"There's so much going on, I don't even know who I have anymore. Matt, my boyfriend Matt- not the other Matt, is being a dick as usual but this time he's gone to a whole new extreme. He's cheated on me."

"You're so fucking oblivious to it y/n. You're so far up his arse coz you think he's the best thing since I don't even know what. Just grow up, get out his arse and realise who's there for you and what you deserve. You come walking in here saying you don't know who you have anymore, so why come crying to me? How do you think that makes me feel? I'll tell you how I feel, like a silly, stupid puppet. Am I just someone you run to when you feel like that? I thought we were different to that, I thought you actually trusted me." Ethan spoke angrily and for some reason, you burst into tears.

He was speaking the truth but it hurt to hear it. You'd spent so much time thinking that Matt was the one, but all along, the 'one' was right in front of you and there for you when you needed him.

"Ethan, I didn't even realise that. You could've said it a little nicer though. I'm not an ass kisser." You mumbled but slightly laughed.

"I'm sorry for upsetting you y/n but you needed to know it. You deserve so much more, I just wish you'd realise that." He sighed. "All along I've stood by you and helped you solve your shit with him and quite frankly, I hate it because I know you deserve so much more but I see how you look at him."

"I needed to hear that Ethan, I really did but I don't know what to do about him anymore. I do really like him but-"

"But I really like you y/n. Can't you see it?" He suddenly exploded, grabbing your face and kissing you roughly.

"Ethan-" you began to break the kiss.

"Don't ruin this y/n coz I might never get this opportunity again." He mumbled against your lips.

"I was going to apologise and tell you that I feel the same." You giggled, kissing him again.

"You don't need Matt anymore. He makes you unhappy and you don't deserve that."

"All along, you've been the one to make me happy Eth and I've been so blind to that."
