"Madeline, honey it's the last day of summer and your on the computer. Why don't you call Brittney?" my mom said as I scanned my home page on facebook.
"Ok fine"
I logged out of facebook and dialed Bri's phone number.
"Hello?" Bri answered.
"Hi Bri can you hangout?"
"Yea sure, meet at the park?"
"Ok"
Me and Bri and sometimes Rose would meet at the park with our bikes and just ride around the neighborhood. We usually meet up on the weekend. But since today was the last day of summer, this would probably be the last time.
I hopped on my bike and rode to the park. I didn't see Brittney there yet so I placed my bike on the bike rack and sat on a swing. It was nice and cool out but not too warm, since the sun was going down. There were two little girls playing tag and a lady Im guessing was their mom sitting on the bench.
"Madeline!" Brianna called out as she set her bike on the rack.
"Hey Bri! Watcha wanna do?" I said as she sat on the swing next to mine.
"I'm not sure. Want to go see if Rose is home?"
Rose was one of me and Brittany's best friends that didn't live that far away from us. Shes about 4'10 and really skinny. Me and Bri always joke around and make fun of her but she knows we're always just joking.
Brittney on the other hand, can be sooo funny! With people she doesn't like, (like Jake, JT, Alex, Adam, and a lot of other people) she can be mean to them. But shes really sweet to her friends.
"Ok lets go" I answered
We hopped on our bikes and rode to Rose's house. Unlike me and Bri, Rose has a big house. Me and Bri live in town homes. We rang the doorbell and after a few seconds Rose answer the door. "Ummm hi guys"
"Hi Rose can you hang out?" Bri asked
"Yea I can"
'Mmmk let's go ride around" I said
As all three of us rode around, we talked about how nervous but excited we are for sixth grade.
"I still cant believe we're going into middle school!" I told them
"Yea, me too. I bet we're gonna see a lot of UHERM's," Said Brittney
I laughed. Me and Bri made up this signal we use if we see a cute and/or hot boy. It's basically just clearing your throat. Me and Brittney's goals this school year were to be asked out......:)
"What does that mean?" Rose asked
"Oh nothing...." I said "Tell meee I promise I won't tell anyone." she pleaded
"Ok fine...Bri will explain."
Brittney gave me a look saying why cant you? But explained what it meant to Rose anyway.
"UHEMRHJF" Rose tried saying the signal but didnt do it quite right.
"No." said Bri "Its UHERM"
"UHERRMPSH" Rose tried again
"Forget it" said Bri
"What time is it?" I asked Bri. Since she always brings her moms phone with her when we hangout, and Rose broke her phone.
"8:08" said Bri
"What time do you guys have to go home?" I asked since my mom doesn't really care.
"8:15" said Rose "Since we start school tomorrow"
"Yea same time for me too" Bri said
"Ok well we should start heading home then." I said "Ok bye Brittney! Bye Maddie!" Rose said as she starting riding her bike home. "Bye!" Me and Bri called out as we starting riding our bikes towards the townhouses.
"So have you decided what your going to wear tomorrow?" Bri asked
"Yea." I said "Just my simple jean shorts and t-shirt with my flower headband" I didn't want to wear anything too fancy or anything on the first day of school. So I just chose to wear something casual like I normally would.
"Oh cool. Im wearing a casual outfit too." she said
"Well I'll see you tomorrow at the bus stop! Bye Madeline!" Bri said as we stopped in front of my house. "Bye! see you!" i waved to her as she started riding her bike to her house.

I woke up the next morning in a really good mood. I was so excited for the first day of school! I splashed nice cool water on my face to wake me up more. I wasn't used to waking up at 6:30am. I made my way down the stairs and saw Jack my fifteen year old brother about to go out the door to his (also mine) bus stop.
"Here I gooo!" Hes a weird kid.
"Ok bye" I called out to him as he slammed the door in my face.How nice!
I went and got cocoa pebbles, poured them in a bowl, got some milk, and ate. When i was done I went to go change. I decided to wear my new dress I just bought. It's not too over the top but its cute and casual. Once I brushed my teeth and got dressed I checked the time: 7:18am. Crap! I have seven minutes! I checked myself In the mirror..not bad. I quickly put on my contacts and went back downstairs.
I went to pack my lunch and made sure I had all my things.
Lunch - Check
Bag - Check
Bag of school supplies - Check
House Key - Check
Once I checked everything the doorbell rang. Bri was here!
"Hey Bri!"
"Hi Maddie! Are you ready to go..?"
"Yep!"
