Perrie had absentmindedly agreed to let Niall take her out for a friendly lunch date, and all they ended up talking about was Jade."Perrie, she's so... Out of it without you. Sometimes she'll forget she has a job and just curl up into a ball on the sofa. She won't admit it, but she's still not over you." Niall repeated, growing irritated with Perrie's persistence.
"She seems completely fine. It's like I don't bother her anymore. She has to at least have dreams of our past. She made a promise." Perrie said, muttering the last bit to herself. Jade had, in fact, made a promise, almost three years ago.

Jade and Perrie were walking along the busy streets of London, giggling about as any girl did, as far as they were concerned, when it started to rain. Jade, as if by instinct, pulled off her jacket and covered Perrie's head, despite her insistence.
"Jade, I'm fine. It's just rain." Perrie assured, pushing Jade's jacket away. Jade proceeded to hold it over her head again, smiling.
"I know we started dating a few months ago, but you've no reason to neglect my chivalry." Jade giggled. "And, you know what?" Jade asked, removing her jacket from its position and skipping a bit ahead of Perrie, only to turn around and walk backwards.
"What, Jade?" Perrie sighed, assuming Jade was going to tell a joke.
"My idea of a perfect kiss was always a kiss in the rain." She replied, grinning. Perrie rolled her eyes and smiled back, leaning in towards Jade's face. She stopped when their foreheads touched, unsure of whether or not this was a good idea, when Jade leaned in quickly and kissed her, bumping their noses.
"Ow, my nose." Perrie whined, rubbing her nose. Jade leaned up and kissed it, looking into Perrie's eyes.
"Better?"
"Much better."

When the girls arrived at the college dorms, Jade ran straight to Perrie's, dragging her by the wrist. When they arrived at Perrie's dorm, Jade quickly shut the door and sat on Perrie's bed, gesturing for her to do the same.
"What, Jade?"
"Come here, I wanna ask you something." Jade whined.
"Fine." Perrie agreed, walking to her bed and sitting beside Jade.
"Can you make me a promise, Perrie?" Jade asked, her voice lacking any signs of insincerity.
"Only if you can make me one."
Jade nodded, taking Perrie's hands. "Promise me that you'll never forget me, no matter what. Even if you move on and find someone better than me, you'll never, ever forget about me."
"I promise, Jade." Perrie said, pausing for a second to think of how she wanted to word this. "Promise me that no matter what happens, you won't ever fully move on. Unless we break up. Just, just promise me that you'll always remember me if I suddenly die from cancer or something one day. I want to be sure that you truly care, Jade."
"I promise Perrie, I promise."
~~~
Niall warily gazed at Perrie as she raked a hand through her now dirty blonde hair, muttering inaudible things to herself. As much as these actions concerned him, he didn't want to frustrate the disheveled twenty-something in front of him. The food they had ordered over half an hour ago finally arrived, grabbing Perrie's attention almost immediately.
