Chapter 5

Angelica couldn't really remember much of what happened last night. She remembered watching Spider-Man with her friends and then bam she fell asleep. As the girl opened her eyes she was blinded by a ray of sun. 

"Oh gods..." She looked over to her cousin. How can she still be sleeping?  Shrugging it off, Angelica took in her surroundings. Finding herself in Reyna's room on the air mattress. I could've sworn I was on the couch, how did I get up here?  Quietly making her way out of the room, so she wouldn't wake the sleeping girl, the eighteen year old made her way downstairs. 

When she got to the bottom of the steps she heard a loud snoring sound, and walked over to the couch. On the couch was Jacob and Kai was laying on the ground. The older boy let out another snore. Jeez Jake! Grabbing a pillow from the couch, Angelica hit Jacob as hard as she could on the face. This action startling him into the living. "What... Angelica what was that for?!"

"Shut up you dying duck, do you want to wake the whole house up?!" His friend whispered harshly.

"What time is it?" 

"Ha, I don't know."

"Seriously, you woke me up, very rudely might I add, at who knows what time it is when I could be sleeping in?"

The girl nodded, "Yeah, pretty much." and made her way into the kitchen. Jacob mumbled a few things and grumpily got off the couch, careful not to step on the redhead, and followed the dark brown haired girl into the kitchen.  

"You know for a more quiet kind of girl you can be really mean."

"Really, you just figured that out and you've known me for how long now?"

"About 2 years but that's beside the point."

"Sure it is Jake." Angelica mumbled as she grabbed a bowl out of the cabinet, then making her way towards the fridge to get some milk. 

"What you doin?" Jacob asked as he watched her move around in the kitchen.

"What does it look like I'm having cereal."

"Right...." Silence filled the kitchen, the only sound to be heard was the sound of Angelica getting her breakfast ready. "Do you want some?" She asked.

"Sure, why not." He shrugged, making his way to the cabinet where the bowls were. "Do you think we should wake up the other two?"

"Nah they can make their own food."

When they both finished preparing their bowls, both teens went to the table and sat down across from each other. Not a word was spoken for those couple of minutes,  just them enjoying their food. A little bit later Kai came trudging in, Reyna following close behind. "Well good morning sleepy heads." Jacob replied. Reyna responded with a small 'hi' and sat next to her cousin. Kai just responded with a grunt and sat down next to him. "So what's the plan for today?" Kai asked. Silence. "Alright nothing... sounds great."

"Well don't you think we should go to the store?" The water wielder asked. 

"For what and also I don't know if you remember, Angie, are place was burned down which means we have no money."

"One we could get food and more clothes, or at least one new outfit that should last us a while. Two I have some money but I don't think it'll cover you, me, and Jake. Don't you guys have your wallets?"

Both boys shook their heads no. "Great." Angelica sighed. 

"Hey we can't all be as smart as you and leave some money in the car."

"Jonathan told us to have some spare money just in case if we got into a bad situation, I think this counts as one Kai!"

"Okay you two calm down jeez, some people are still trying to sleep." Reyna told them groggily. 

"Oh crap we forgot about her parents." 

"Besides," the platinum blonde girl began. "I do have a job... well did and I could use some of my money for that."

"Reyna you don't have to do this, this is our problem." Her cousin tried to convince her.

"No, ever since you guys found me your problems became my problems, I'm one of you."

The other three just smiled at the girl's answer. She didn't have to help them, she could've just kicked them out of her life, but she didn't. Reyna treated them as if they were people she has known her whole life. That's what they all liked about her. "Your'e amazing you know that?" The red head asked.

"Well it would be nice to here it a little more often." Each of them broke out in laughter at Reyna's remark. As they laughed Zoey approached the teens and told them to be ready she was taking them out to get new clothes. Kai, Jacob, and Angelica tried to reason with the woman that she didn't have to do this. The woman wouldn't take no for an answer though. Reyna went to go change into a dress that stopped at her knees. The top of the dress was white and similar to a tank top, around her waist was a silver belt, and the skirt was a light blue and the same colored shoes. Her hair in a simple braid the one strand of blue making it's way through the blonde hair.  Once she was ready they left.  

Thirty minutes later they all found themselves at a clothes store. Reyna and her mother went to the women's section to help Angelica find something, leaving the boys on their own in the men's section. As Jacob looked through one wrack and Kai looked through the other, he found a really interesting shirt the only problem was that it wasn't his size. "Hey Red," he addressed the younger boy. "check this shirt out."

What Kai saw was one of the greatest things he's ever seen. The shirt was white with a golden halo on the chest, just under it were the words 'I'll Be Your Guardian Angel'. How could the sixteen year old not try it on. When he came out of the changing room he was wearing the shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of shoes that wear about the same color as his fiery hair. Reyna was there waiting for her cousin to come out with a new outfit on her. "Seriously?" She asked 

He smiled. "What I think it's great."

She shook her head as if she was disappointed in him.

"Oh come on snowflake, lighten up a bit. Besides I need your opinion for how this outfit looks together."

The girl directed him to a set of mirrors and observed for a few seconds. "Yes it's fine."

"Okay thanks." He said as he made his way back the his dressing room. Right as he went into his room Angelica came out of hers. She wore a lilac tank top and a darker purple skirt, her shoes black, and a small denim jacket. "So what do you think?"

Reyna made her cousin stand in front of the mirrors just like she did with Kai. "You look great, but I feel like you're missing something..." Reyna pulled the older girl's dark brown hair out of the ponytail it was in and let it fall around her shoulders. Then she found a hair clip the same color as the shirt the other girl was wearing and clipped her bangs back so they weren't too much in her face. "That is better." She told her.

Angelica took a moment to look at herself, she never really had a chance to go shopping with another girl because she was so busy with other things. Maybe this is something that could hopefully happen a little more in the future. After all this craziness is over anyways. 

When everyone found the outfit they wanted Reyna's mother decided to pay for them. Once again Kai, Jacob, and Angelica objected to this, but like before Zoey didn't listen. When they got back to the Smith household they had to plan how they were going to find Kai's long lost sister and Pandora, since they had a lead in New York.  Zoey suggested that they should take a plane, but then there was that money issue. Angelica said that they could just drive there since she had her car, they could make plenty of stops needed along the way.Everyone seemed to be okay with the idea of driving, the teens would each take turns driving, and would stop at motels during the night. 

They left by the next morning at 6 a.m. Reyna said her goodbye's to her parents, whom of course told them all to be safe. As the four piled into the car, they all yelled simultaneously, "New York here we come!"
