Chapter 6

So this is what hell is like? Kai thought as they kept driving.

It was currently Jacob's turn to drive and after it would be his turn. Both girls were asleep in the backseat, while the redhead stared out the window. He scoffed, lucky they could easily get some sleep.

To be honest, he was never one for sleeping on planes or in the car, just a small little phobia that something would if he fell asleep.

"We almost there yet?" he asked his best friend.

"Yeah we should be there in about an hour."

That drew out a big sigh from him.

"Jeez kid, don't be so excited."

"Shut it Jake, you know I don't like being in cars for too long."

"Why don't you read a book then, I'm sure Angelica packed a few."

"No that makes me feel dizzy and sick."

"Okay no books then.... you could play some games on your phone."

"It makes me feel the exact same way as the books do."

That caused Jacob to keep his mouth shut because he really didn't have any other suggestions.

The younger boy sighed again, nice talking with you too pal.

That whole hour Kai Summers just sat there in the passenger's seat, thinking to himself. Thinking where to first find his little sister. She hasn't been registered into an orphanage since she was ten, she was at least fourteen by now. Probably found a way to get by on her own on the streets. Part of him hoped that she didn't have to steal from anybody but given the situation she's in, that would seem like the only option she had.

After this is over I should ask her to stay with me, I may not have a home yet but I could probably manage to find one.

Jacob ended up driving the rest of the way to New York. Even though part of Kai really wanted to drive because it would give him something to do.

They went through a few cities and asked around, mainly asking other teens or kids from orphanages, about the younger Summers sibling.

"You know we should really take a break." Reyna suggested.

"I'm with blondie here." Kai agreed. Did I just call her blondie?

The other two looked at each other and nodded their heads. "Yeah I guess we could take a break."

They all went to the nearest park to have their little hang out session, Kai reached into his bag and pulled out a little penny board. Each of his friends gave him a certain look that said 'are you serious?' or 'why do you have that in your bag?'.

"What? At least it's small." and he was off. He made it a good distance away from them, but then a distraction appeared. That distraction being Reyna, specifically she was calling for him. The redhead turned his head, probably not the best idea as he was still riding his board. While Kai was trying to figure out what the blonde was saying, another rider was turning onto the same side walk he was on. This probably should've been a time when the sixteen year old wore a helmet because a certain collision took place.

Both riders fell back off their boards. In the distance they could hear Reyna shouting "You moron I told you to watch out!"

As all his friends came to his aid, he and the other rider began to sit up. All it took was one look and the two teens freaked out. "Who the heck are you?!" both shouted.
