The alarm rang at 5:30 am, snapping me out of the soft confinements of sleep. Slipping out of the black sheets, I quietly made my way towards my closet, so I could start my day. I've always been an early riser, and sleeping in to 6:30 am is late for me.

I threw on a pair of dark jeans, a white shirt and a black zip up hoodie. Nothing all too nice looking, I dress more for comfort than anything. Lastly, I put on the shark tooth necklace that my mom gave to me a few years ago.

The tooth was slightly larger than a guy at pick, and the edges were fairly sharp. It was wrapped in silver wire and hung on a black, leather strap around my neck. There hasn't been a day where I left the house without it around my neck, I considered it to be a good luck charm.

Since today was the first day of school, and being new in town, this was an important day for me to make the best first impression possible. I'd have been damned if I was going to leave the house without my shark tooth.

I made my way into the bathroom and turned on the faucet to splash my face with cold water. I never really had problems with acne, I just had to wash my face in the morning and I'd be just fine. Opening the cabinet, I grabbed one of my nicest smelling colognes and sprayed a little amount on. Believe me, I learned quickly not to use too much in middle school, and I was not going to make the same mistake with it again.

I took a quick glance at my phone to check the time. 5:50 AM. Perfect.

While in the bathroom, I take a couple of minutes to look at myself in the mirror. A medium tan complexion, deep green eyes and jet black hair that I kept short and choppy, and even then, still flipped up a tad. I still looked like a boy, but my jawline was beginning to become somewhat prominent. Well, for a Freshman, I suppose I was lucky for that.

Checking the time again, the clock read 6:00 AM. That's enough time staring into the mirror. I told myself as I left the bathroom and headed downstairs to the kitchen to grab something to eat.
