Joshua's POV:
I was worried sick about Melissa and the others. I knew that they'd be losing faith in me by now. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Samantha had lost faith in me completely-she always hated me. How long me and Ada walked, I don't know, but she didn't speak, she knew I was worried too much to listen.
After a long time, or it could have been no time at all, Ada held out a hand to stop me. We were outside another shack, but this one was quite big compared to the first. "The other two are in there. They probably don't know that Claw's dead yet, we can use that to our advantage." Ada threw her sniper rifle aside and drew a small knife from a sheath on her leg.
"You first." she told me, holding the knife backwards in her hand "We're going to kick in the front door and see if we can kill them that way."
I stepped towards the door carefully, trying not to make any noise. Then, with a feeling of reckless abandon, I barged the door open and yelled "Knock knock assholes!"
I heard two yells of surprise before Breath and Wing came hurtling at me. Ada was hiding behind me though, and the knife was thrust into Breath's eye before he knew what was happening. He fell like a puppet without strings as Wing retreated into the first room.
We charged in after him and the next thing I knew was a sudden pain in my leg. Wing had a gun. I backed out as quickly as I could, as he still opened fire on me and Ada, who had dodged the bullet aimed at her. "Now what?" I asked her.
"Wait until he reloads." she mouthed, we heard a break in the shooting, and charged in. he was gone though, and Ada suddenly shoved me back through the door as the air in front of me seemed to explode, wooden splinters flying everywhere, Ada flying backwards on top of me. I turned her onto her back and she was covered in blood.
"Fucking grenade..." she breathed, these moments were clearly going to be her last. She grabbed me with all the force she could and told me "Forget Wing, get to your friends-he's probably going to do the exact same to the sauna! GO!" she shouted as the last of her strength left her and her hands thudded to the floor. I sighed heavily, spared a moment to close her eyelids over the eyes that were no longer seeing before turning back and rushing to the sauna as fast as I could.
My mind was flooded with what had just happened to Ada. I would not let Melissa suffer the same fate. I COULDN'T let Melissa suffer the same fate.
