Melissa's POV:

The other two had heard it as well-an explosion somewhere. "Please, no Josh." I whispered, moving to the window. It had been 3 and a half hours now, and the very air in our lungs seemed to burn. We'd hit 93°C. Joshua couldn't be dead, he still needed to save us.

"He's dead." Samantha told us bluntly.

"No. He might have triggered that explosion to buy himself some time to get us out of here." I told her, knowing in my heart it wasn't true.

"Let's hope you're right." Ryan told me, holding Samantha

"No Josh, please don't be dead, you can't die. I love you too much to let you die now." I kept whispering at the window, the fear gripping my heart in its terrible squeeze. He wasn't dead, he couldn't be dead. I was terrified.

What the hell had happened?
