First date

Emily paced around her room, nervous for her first date ever. She couldn't believe that her crush since 1st grade, Phillip, had asked her out. She had almost passed out, while he had been cool and collected.

She tugged at the straps of her flowered dress for about the billionth time. It was her favorite dress, but today she felt as if it was too big on her. Even her white sandals looked foreign on her feet.

"Emily! Your dates here!" She heard her mom call from downstairs, and she practically flew down the stairs. She did NOT want Phillip to spend too much time talking to her mother. She loved her, but sometimes the woman could be embarrassing.

Downstairs, Phillips back was to her, but already felt her heart quicken. He looked great in a pair of jeans, and his leather jacket. She realized that they would look great together, a girl in a flowered sundress and a boy In a leather jacket.

"Oh Emily, don't you look darling!" Her mother squealed, and Phillip turned, finally noticing her. She was delighted to see that his gaze remained on her face, not traveling anywhere else on her body. He was such a gentleman.

"You look beautiful" he said, with a small smile. Emily blushed. For some one who was so popular in school, he really was sweet.

"Thanks, so do you" Emily said, and immediately regretted it. I'm such an idiot, she thought The date was probably going to be terrible. She feared he would never want to go out with her again, but he just smiled back at her, ignoring her mistake, and she relaxed.

"Ready to go?" He asked, and Emily nodded. She had no idea where they were going. He had said it was a surprise. "Have fun!" Her mom said as they walked out the front door.

"Sooo, where are you taking me?" Emily asked. She loved being surprised , but she wished he would just tell her. She really didn't want her first date ever to be a failure.

He replied with a smile "Hope you like frozen yogurt"

"This is so good!" Emily exclaimed as she ate another spoonful of delicious frozen yogurt. She was surprised she had never been here before. It was just the sort of place that she loved, with cotton candy pink and blue walls, and peppy pop songs playing over the speakers.

Phillip looked up from his own cup. "Glad you like it" he replied, a shy smile on his face. It was strange, he seemed so nervous around her. He always seemed so confident and collected in school.

"I'm really enjoying being out with you." Emily said with a spark of courage. She hoped she hadn't scared him away.

He reached out across the table and took her hand in his. "I'm really glad you said yes to going out with me. I've been wanting to ask you for a while now." He said. Emily's heart almost leapt out of her chest. How long had had he waited to ask her out?

"You have?" She asked almost breathlessly. She felt like this was a dream. Things like this only happened in movies and fan fictions. Nobody REALLY got their crush in real life.

She was so tempted to glance around the Small shop to look for hidden cameras, but she forced herself to keep her eyes on the boy in front of her. She felt for sure she was getting punked.

Phillip removed his hand from hers and scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Umm, it's hard for me to finally admit this but...Emily...I've liked you for a long time, but I knew you didn't feel the same, so I never asked you out until now. I understand if you don't like me back, but I had to go on at least one date with you." He finishes. Emily's mouth almost fell open in shock. She couldn't believe that he had just admitted that. After all these years, it turned out that he felt the same way!

"I like you too Phillip, a lot. I never knew that you felt the same way" she replied, still in obvious shock. She saw him relax, and then smile. "I guess this won't be our only date then" he chuckled. Emily took another bite of her yogurt. "No, I guess not."

I really really hope you liked this imagine (I worked all day on it) and I'm sooooo sorry it's so late but hey, better late than never, eh? :)
