Daniel imagine- The Breakup

You and Daniel had been best friends for years, And even though you left obvious clues about how you felt about him, he still didn't get it. He was still caught up on his stupid girlfriend, Emma. "Hey y/n, Want to hang out tonight? Emma canceled our date." He asks over the phone. "Sure" you reply, a little sadly. Why are you always his second choice? He says goodbye and hangs up, and your left to your own thoughts. What would it take to make him notice you? Why are you so unimportant to him that you're the last person he turns to to spend time with? You feel the tears already brimming. Maybe you should just let him go.
        You wipe tears from your eyes with the back of your hand. In your other hand, your phone vibrates, signaling an incoming call. You glance at the caller ID, and your brows knit in confusion. Why is he calling again?
        You hesitantly slide your thumb to answer the call. "Daniel? What's wrong?" You ask, when you hear him sniveling on the other side."Emma broke up with me" he sobs. Your heart leaps at that, but you force yourself to sound upset. "Oh Danny, I'm sorry" you say, mentally jumping and dancing."C- Can I come over?" You flop down on the couch. "Of course." You say your goodbyes and hang up.
        10 minutes later, Daniel arrives, and you immediately pull him into a hug, tears running down his face. He clutches onto you for dear life, and you feel your heart pounding. He hasn't touched you like that for months, Since he started dating Emma to be exact. You rub his back soothingly, but smile. You'll make him yours Soon enough. You'd make sure of it.
