The lights are still on. They're still in there, even though it's been dark out for around an hour. I shake the can of paint and begin writing my parting message onto the concrete.
Now to get them out. I yank off a branch from a nearby tree, (I don't know how I managed to acquire super strength of some sort.) and begin
to beat up their cars. The alarms go off and the doors open.
'Veronica? What are you doing?' Heather yells, her eyes bright.
I run past them, and through the doors, locking myself in. I watch the shock on their faces as they read the message and look back up at me.
I lift my jacket, showing the bomb that's strapped to me.
The timer begins to go.
45 seconds left.
My head is so silent, for once. They're not inside there, they'll be with me soon.
30.
They're screaming. Why do they always overreact?
25.
Should I have let my boss know I probably won't get the column in by tomorrow?
20.
My heart begins to race, breathing rate increasing.
15.
'YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS!'
10.
Wouldn't expect them to understand. They never do.
9.
I'm sorry, Heather. I probably shouldn't have given you that liquid drainer.
8.
Sorry Kurt, sorry Ram. Also probably shouldn't have made everyone believe you were gay when you just wanted to fuck me.
7.
I should start being honest. Now should be a good time, right?
6.
I'm not sorry, Heather. You were a total bitch and I hated you. You deserved everything you got.
5.
I'm not sorry, Kurt, or Ram. It's funny to see to homophobic assholes like you become symbols against what you stood for.
4.
Betty, I should have spent more time with you.
3.
Heather and Heather, you were super annoying.
2.
Mom, Dad. I'm sorry for being a horrible person.
1.
J.D, I can't wait to finally see you again. I'm a fucking idiot, forgive me please.
Boom.
