Lucy POV:
Waking up at 6:45 in the morning is never fun, but unfortunately that's what this morning brings me.

My feet hit the floor as I get out of bed.

Heading to the bathroom to freshen up, I grab my uniform on the way so I may prep myself for the school day.

Once finished, I tiptoe downstairs and quietly hope that he isn't awake yet.

Relieved that my father hasn't woken up yet, I scurry out of the house.

I walk in silence and patiently wait for Natsu's arrival.

Natsu POV:
"Bye mom!" I shout into the house.

"Bye sweetie, oh and make sure you ask her!" Mom calls back.

"I know, I know. Love you Mom." I respond while closing the door behind me.

Jumping down the steps, I wait for Lucy to arrive.

Soon, I could see Lucy walking in my direction.

Once close enough, I greet, "Good morning Luce!"

"Good morning Natsu!" Lucy replied with a smile.

"So," I ask as we begin to head to school together, like we normally do, "my mom asked you yesterday if you would want to come over to dinner tonight, do you still want to?"

"Of course I do!" she quickly answers.

"Okay! I'll tell my mom later. I bet she'll have already made you a plate anyways, even if you didn't come." I snicker knowing that my mom would actually do that.

"Well, your mom is really sweet, so I can see what you mean. She'd probably make meals for the whole neighborhood if she had all the stuff to do so." Lucy giggles.

We both start laughing.

"Yeah, she'd definitely do that." I agree.

"Your mom is really kind though, she kinda reminds me of my mom." Lucy admits with a half-smile.

My eyes glance to her face.

Her head hangs down as she looks at the sidewalk, smiling.

She looks as if she's remembering something.

"I bet your mom would be proud of you." I announce.

Lucy looks at me.

Her expression shows curiosity and confusion.

"I mean, you're really smart, talented, and beautiful... who won't be proud of that?" I explain.

"My father..." she whispers so quietly I almost couldn't hear it.

"Her father?"

"What?" I question.

Lucy shakes her head and the half-smile on her face grows into a big grin.

"I hope that she is too." She says.

We continue chatting all the way to school.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The school consisted of the same boring, crappy lessons that we apparently "need to be successful in life", a crazy lunch that involved lots of laughter, and the urge to get home and see what mom has made for dinner.
Finally, the dismissal bell rings and I couldn't be happier.
I race out of the classroom and head outside to wait for Lucy.
