The Things She Never Spoke Of

Chapter 12

Lucy POV:
Natsu and I continue to sit on the bench until we hear a high pitched voice.

"There you guys are! We've been looking for you!" Levy exclaims, but doesn't forget to give me a quick smirk.

Not understanding why she smirked, I jump up from the bench, and Natsu does the same. We all start to stroll back to the cars.

As we were walking, Erza walks up to me.

"Hey Lucy, Levy and Juvia are coming to my house tonight, do you wanna come?" Erza invites.

"Sure, I'd love to!" I answer with a smile.

The rest of the way to the car included banter, giggles, and excitement. As we girls bundled into Erza's car, the boys snugged into Gajeel's.

"We'll see you guys at school! Bye!" We shouted in unison through the open car window as we drove off, leaving the boys to tend to themselves.

Laughter and chatter filled the car as we rode to Erza's house.

Once we arrived, we got all the beach stuff out of the trunk and headed indoors.

Inside the Scarlet's residence was a spacious, beautifully decorated family and dining room and a large, well-organized kitchen. Soft, red carpets, modern furniture, little knick-knacks, and other little items were scattered around her house. There was a long hallway that led to two rooms: a bedroom and bathroom.

"Erza your place is amazing!" I gasp in awe.

"Thank you, come on I'll show you my room." Erza replied.

She led us to her bedroom, and inside was just as gorgeous as the rest of the house. Continuing with the modern furniture theme, a queen bed with a red comforter was neatly arranged with decorative accent pillows and throws. On either side of the bed stands identical light marble tables. Lamps, books, and other things sit upon the side tables. A TV is evenly mounted on the wall, as well as beautiful artworks and pictures. Overall, Erza's room looks like it popped right out of a designer magazine.

"Erza... I love your house!" I exclaim.

"Thank you it took me forever to get everything the way I wanted it to be, but I'm really glad how it all turned out." She responds with a proud smile.

As we set down our beach bags, I notice Juvia and Levy pulling out their pajamas. Realizing I don't have any sleep attire, I begin to worry.

"What am I supposed to wear? What am I gonna do?"

Erza soon notices my anxious expression and says, "Don't worry Lucy, I've got something you can wear."

She gives me a quick grin before saying, "After all it's my fault you don't have clothes to wear. I was gonna ask you yesterday, but I forgot to get your phone number."

"Oh no it's okay! Here, let's all exchange numbers." I happily suggest.

"Okay!" The girls answer.

After we all exchange numbers, we get changed into our sleepwear. Erza provided me with a pink t-shirt and white striped shorts.

"Lu-chan you look so cute!" Levy fangirls.

"Aw thanks you too." I giggle.

The four of us gather on top of Erza's bed; snacks, drinks, and everything else were surrounded around us. Gossip and chatter is passed back and forth between us.

"So, Levy I was wondering something... do you like Gajeel?" I bluntly ask.

Levy's face becomes red as she stutters,"Um-mm ma-yb-e?"

"Oh yeah she lovessss him." Juvia slurs.

"Oh yeah, well what about Gray? Huh Juvia?" Levy fires back.

Juvia's cheeks flood with blush, as Erza bursts out laughing.

"You guys are hopeless." Erza says while shaking her head.

"Yeah alrighhhtttt, how's Jellal doing Erza?" Juvia asks with a smirk.

Erza's face turned a dark shade of red, darker than her hair.

"Shut up." Erza pouts.

Suddenly they all turn and look at me with devilish smiles spread across their faces.

"Lucy, we know." Juvia said.

"Know what?" I asked, worried if they found out about my dad.

"THAT YOU LIKE NATSU!" Levy blurted out.

My heart picks up speed as my cheeks rapidly heat up.

"W-what?" I stutter.

"Come on, you guys are so cute together." Juvia explained.

"Yeah, and Natsu is so sweet and nice to you." Levy continues.

"Natsu cares about you, Lucy. I think he really loves you." Erza calmly states.

"But... but I've never liked, much less loved, someone before. How do I even know?" I question, still madly blushing.

"Well, I believe love is when you would do anything and everything for that person, no matter what." Levy proudly states.

"I think love is when you would want to spend time with that person and share beautifully wonderful memories with them." Juvia passionately says.

"Love is what you feel for a person that makes you forget about your troubles and worries just by being with them. These are all examples of what love is, Lucy." Erza finishes.

I sit there baffled.

"Do I love Natsu?" I ask.

"That's for you to find out, but I believe Natsu truly loves you Lucy." Levy happily says while giving me a warm smile.

My heart continues to beat fast the rest of the night.

"Do I love Natsu?" was my last thought as I drifted off into sleep.
