Chapter Eight.

The next day i took Rick to and from work like normal then after i dropped Rick off home i made my way to the hospital to visit Issac.

When i got there Issac was reading a book but put it down when he saw me enter.

"Hello Joe" he said smiling, he struggled but managed to sit up against the headboard i stepped up to him and put some pillows behind him so he's more comfortable then sat down of the chair next to him.

"Thanks" he said, i nodded and sat watching him.

"So, did you manage to find out who tried to kill me?" He asked fidgeting with his fingers.

"I called your army buddy Jim and he said he'd get back to me when he finds out who it is" i said.

"Oh okay thank you" he scratched the back of his neck uncomfortable making me frown.

"What is it?" I asked.

"There was an incident today" he said not looking at me, why wont he look at me?

"What happened?"

"I could hear someone yelling out in the hallway he was trying to get the nurses to tell him where i was, the nurses refused because of his temper and he wasn't family, he ended up beating her up for it, he said he'd be back to find me then left, i went out and the nurse was unconscious because she refused to tell the man where i was, Joe what if it's the man who tried to kill me coming to finish what he started?" He asked.

"How the hell did they find out where you are? Who else besides us knows your here?"

"No one" he said, i gave him the tell the truth look.

"No one i swear" he cried, what the hell do we do then? He said he'd be back so i need to be able to protect him.

"I'll be back" i said getting up and walking out, i saw a nurse standing next to a medication trolley.

"Excuse me ma'am" i asked getting her attention, she looked up at me and blushed.

"Hello, what can i do for you?" She asked smiling.

"I have been told a man came in and attacked a nurse, this man was looking for Issac Patterson, he is the man that shot Mr Patterson, he had come to finish the job but couldn't find him, i was also told he said he'd be back, so i would like permission to stand guard tonight, thats my job you see im a security guard" i explained, she thought about it then replied.

"Alright sir I don't see the harm in letting you stay" i nodded my thanks then thought it best to ask.

"Also how is the injured nurse?"

"Oh she is doing well now thanks for asking, she was unconscious for a few hours but shes awake now"

"Well thats good then, ma'am" i said bowing then went back to Issacs room, he looked up from his lap when i walked in and tilted his head in question, i sat back down and pulled my phone out and dialled Ricks number.

"Hello Joe, hows Issac doing?" Rick asked.

"He's doing well sir, I'm calling to tell you that I'll be staying in the hospital tonight to look after Issac" Issac's eyes widened in shock when i said this.

"Why what's wrong?" He asked conserned.

"Please do not tell Jason all he will do is worry"

"Okay what's happened?"

"The man that tried to kill Issac was here today, he's injured a nurse trying to find him, its also come to my attention that he's coming back so I'm going to stay the night to protect Issac"
