Imagine being downstairs in the kitchen of the home you shared with your boyfriend, Ringo Starr. He was currently upstairs in his music room practicing his drums, an instrument you had always wanted to learn to play. You would think that having one of the most famous drummers for a boyfriend, you would know how to play a little bit, but you had no clue. Well, except for the fact that you hit the drums with sticks.
You finished making lunch for you and Ringo and carried it up the stairs, finding Ringo already sitting on the couch in the room, taking a break.
"Thanks, love." Ringo said as you handed him his plate and drink off of a tray.
You took your own food and sat down beside him, the both of you eating your lunch quite quickly.
"So, what were you practicing, Ritchie?"
"Nothing really, just messing about. I was supposed to be practicing this drum solo thing that Paul wrote out for me, but you know how I despise drum solos."
"Is it really a solo? I don't think I've ever heard one in your music."
"Well, it kind of is. It's like a little filler thing between verses."
"Oh, well, I'm sure you'll get it down."
Your conversation carried on throughout lunch, and then you cleaned up the dishes and were preparing to exit the room.
"Wait, love, don't you want to learn how to play the drums?" Ringo asked, getting up from the couch.
"No, Ritchie, it's all right. I know I wouldn't be able too." You laughed.
"Nonsense, I'm sure you can. Come here." Ringo said, motioning over to his drum kit.
He pulled up a chair instead of the usual stool and sat down, patting his lap and motioning for you to sit.
"Are you sure, Ritchie?"
"Yes, I'm sure, (Y/N). Now, get over here!"
You sat on Ringo's lap and he handed you a pair of sticks.
"Do whatever you feel like."
"Just hit it?"
Ringo nodded his head and you tentatively begin to tap the drums, hardly making any sound.
"You can play louder, you know. You won't hurt the drums, love."
"Okay..."
You begin to hit the drums like crazy, imagining that you were in a crazy rock band that was going all out, even flipping your hair at one point.
"Wow, darling, I didn't know you had it in you." Ringo said, surprised.
"What? You didn't think I could do it?"
"There's that drummer's confidence coming out."
"I learned from the best." You said, getting up and sitting back down on Ringo so you could face him.
"Oh, I know you did, love." Ringo said, placing a kiss on your lips.
"Will we be continuing the lessons, Mr. Starr?"
"Not now, darling. Class dismissed!" Ringo yelled.
He picked you up and ran to the bedroom, the drum lessons long forgotten by him, but you wouldn't forget. Playing the drums was too much fun not to do again!
