I step out of the train slowly and smoothly. Finnick is by my side and walks behind me on the long carpet that leads to the party. People around us cheer wildly and scream our names, blinding us with the bright snaps of cameras. I keep my composure and walk forward, swaying my hips a little for effect.
My heart begins to race even more as people with microphones come near us. Ten of them, swarming us as we walk. They shove their mics in my face and blabber random questions, their voices overlapping. I can't even understand them. I shove passed them but I can help but hear a few of their questions.
"Are you and Finnick dating?"
"Who's the brunette boy?"
"How thin is your waist?"
"What's your cup size?"
"Are you still a virgin?"
"Did Finnick take your virginity?"
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
I roll my eyes mentally at the questions and continue to push passed them. One of the reporters grabs my waist but Finnick quickly pries him off of me, shoving him backwards. We finally enter the large party, away from the reporters, and begin to mingle. The music is blasting in my ears but if feels so good, it erases all that has happened. All of the stress.
I quickly spy the bar counter and walk over, hopping up on the tall barstool. The bartender winks at me, a tall blonde boy with blue eyes and fair skin. I ignore it and order two shots. He sets them in front of me, along with his number, and I down them quickly. I ask for one more before leaving. I don't want to get too tipsy yet.
It feels good to let loose. It makes me feel free, like I don't have any problems. I guess the shots are making a small mark because I never feel like this. A slow song blasts from the stereo and a man taps me on the shoulder. I turn to him and he politely asks me to dance, I accept. The man is short and fat, not my type, but since Snow is probably watching I'd better dance with him.
He twirls me around, making me slightly dizzy. This continues for a few damn awful minutes before we finally break apart.
"I'm free tonight, what about you?" He asks with a sly smirk on his ugly face.
"Um, I have other whereabouts. Sorry." I reply confidently, almost vomiting.
"Ok, but if you have time. I'm here..." He says, before slinking off.
I shudder and walk off of the dance floor. I see a couple of other Victors along the wall watching, not including Finnick. I have no idea where he is. I walk over to the two shadows against the wall and greet them with a smile, which they return. One of them I recognize as Johanna and the other is Cashmere.
"Hey girl, how are you?" Johanna says in her tough voice.
"I'm good, you?" I reply.
"I'm like usual. Haven't seen you in forever though." She states, giving me a light hug.
Hugs are unusual for Johanna, maybe she's drunk?
"I'm out of here." Cashmere says arrogantly before stalking off.
"Don't worry about her, she's a bitch." Johanna says, earning herself a laugh from me. "So, you want to hang?"
"Sure, where?" I answer her.
"Bar?" She offers with a smirk.
"Of course."
I follow her through the crowd, almost getting groped by male pigs on the way. Johanna is thankfully there to pull them off of me though. Thank God. We make our way to the bar and I take a seat once more. The waiter, same as before, smiles at me. He stares a little lower than my face though...
