Ch. 13: Running On Half Full

*James' P.O.V.*

*3:00am*

I haven't gotten a second of sleep tonight. Not after what I just planned with Derek. I'm risking a lot, going to a sleepover with my crush... Crush. It still feels foreign to say that word in reference to a guy, rather than a brand of soda.

You'd swear I'm high if you saw me right now, flopped down on my bed, cuddling with my cat, smiling cheesily, telling him how epic I feel, and why. I guess I could say I've come out to my cat! Hahaha...

Now that I think about it though, I'm worried out of my mind, too... If I make one slip up, I won't have anyone to be my voice of reason. I'll just have to be careful to avoid it.

*8:00am*

I got about two hours of sleep. It's satisfactory though because I'm wide awake and springy when I message Derek for his address. He responds about a minute later.

"My address is 101 Redwater Drive. And bring a swimsuit if you want to, I have a pool." The message reads. I raise an eyebrow. A pool? But it's the middle of January... Then again, do I honestly care? It might mean getting to see him shirtless!

I sigh at my own corrupt thoughts. Nonetheless, I pack up my backpack with a swimsuit, towel, and goggles. I also pack a few video games, my pj's, and my itouch.

I couldn't help but download a truth or dare app on my itouch as an excuse to see what how far he'll go... Why he makes me want to break every rule in my book in seconds is beyond me. He's just enticing...

I hear mom honk the car horn, making me jump. I rush out to the car, and off I go to what I hope will be a very, very memorable night.
