Mornings

I wake up in the morning

Still drowsy and dizzy.

My bed pleads for me to stay

But my mom says get busy.

I look inside my closet

Don’t know what to wear.

Everyone yelling “Pick me!”

Really, I don’t care.

Brush my teeth until they’re shiny

Wash my face with soap.

Giggly, squirmy soap.

This day ends son, I hope.

I hear the beeping of the school bus

Gotta’ run or I’ll be late

Grab my backpack and lunch money

Here comes my unwanted date.
