| Madi's POV

I couldn't sleep. I don't know why, I just couldn't. I clicked on my phone and looked at the time, 3:48a.m. I swear it said 3:47 like 10 minutes ago. I sighed before getting up and pulling my hair into a ponytail. I then walked downstairs and towards the kitchen.

I poured myself a glass of water before sitting on the counter. It was completely dark and I couldn't see anything, except for the moon light coming in from the window above the sink. I looked at the window when something came across my eye.

I jumped off the counter and placed the cup on the counter. I walked closer to the window and say a figure looking up at the sky. Memories flashed before my eyes before I realized who it was.

1 YEAR AGO.

"Hey, I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" Bryce whispered and rubbed the back of his neck.

"No, you're good." I giggled softly and whispered back. "Why are you up so early?"

"Can't sleep," he responded. I grabbed his hand and lead him outside. It was freezing. "What are we doing out here? It's like -800 degrees!"

"Shush." I looked up at him and laughed slightly. "Look." I pointed up at the stars. "I come out here and just look at the different shapes I can find, it's very relaxing."

We then began pointing out the different shapes and figures we could find. We spent at least 10 minutes out there before it got really cold.

Right as I was about to go into my room, Bryce stopped me.

"Thank you." He whispered.

"For what?" I gave him a confused look.

"For today, this has been the most fun I've had in a while." He smiled and I could see a tint of pink to his cheeks. I stood on my toes and kissed his cheek.

"Youre welcome, Bryce. We should definitely do this again sometime." I said before walking into my room.

PRESENT DAY

I didn't realize I had let a few tears slip from eyes until that moment. I quickly whipped them away and cursed under my breath. Why was I crying?

Before Bryce could see me, I grabbed my water and walked back to my room.

fun fact: when I went to copy the flashback part from Angel, I realized the time she woke up during that specific part, was the EXACT time she woke up during this chapter. I SWEAR I DID NOT TRY IT.
