Chapter 13

|Madi's POV

     Mark and Haillie forced me to come to some party, no matter how much I refused. I hated parties and they knew this; but they said I needed to 'let lose' and just have some fun.

      After about an hour of being there, I lost both Haillie and Mark. But it was a good thing Blake and Clara were here, so I just stuck with them for a majority of the time. It was around 11 and I was beginning to get really tired. So, I went to find Mark and tell him I was leaving.

      I soon found him and Haillie with a group of people I recognized from school. They all sat in a circle, playing truth or dare.

      "Hey," I kneeled down to Mark and put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm heading home."

      "Alright," he stood up and lead me out the door. Once we were outside, he looked down the street, as if he were looking from someone. "Ill call you when we're on our way back."

       I nodded before saying goodbye and crossing the street. It took me about 15 minutes to get home and I couldn't be any happier to be away from that party.

      When I was about to cross the street to my house, I stopped and noticed someone standing on my porch. They turned and walked down the steps. I then realized it was Bryce.

        I looked at him and couldn't help but think of the photo. The photo that made me fall out of love with him over a year ago.

        And in that moment, when our eyes connected from across the street, I ran.

        I ran to him.
