|Madi's POV
»One Week Later

I got into Haillie's car and prepared to tell her about my feelings for Bryce. Ever since the innocent last year, she hated him. And despite the fact Mark and him were best friends, she couldn't stand him whatsoever.

"Soooo, spill." She clapped and started driving down the street. "Who is this boy you've been telling me about?"

"You're gonna be mad at me," I sighed, but laughed a little.

"Why would I be ma-" She was about to see, but then her mouth dropped. "Its not him, is it?" I didn't answer. "MADISON PAIGE THOMAS!"

"We aren't together, I just really like him." I laughed and covered my face. She wasn't laughing, her lips pressed together.

"He's going to hurt you again. And you know that." She stated without a hint of emotion in her voice. I sat there in silence. She wasn't happy for me? "Sometimes, when you think you found the right person, it can all change in a matter of seconds." Her voice cracked. I looked over at her and saw her tears were watery.

"Haillie, what's wrong?" I asked and put a hand on her arm. She whipped her finger underneath her eye and shook her head.

"Mark and I broke up last night.." Her voice was shaky and a tear slipped down her cheek. My heart dropped. "Lately we haven't been connecting on a lot of things and we were fighting and ended up deciding it was best if we just ended it. But I didn't want things to end, I just wanted to do what would make him happy."

"Haillie, you and Mark are meant to be. You've been through everything together, you can let this one little thing slip by. You'll work things out, trust me. And if you don't, ill talk to him for you."

She sighed, but then smiled. "Thank you, Madi. And you don't need to talk to him. It's like you said, we'll work things out."

She then wanted to change the subject, which is understandable. We drove to the mall, did some shopping and talked about school. But there was only one major thing that kept running through my mind;
