Ashlyn poured her grandmother a couple of coffee the moment the red light blinked indicating that it was hot. “Now, Grammy, you know the doctor said ‘no caffeine,” She reminded her grandmother, as she sprinkled a pack of artificial sprinkler into the coffee. “Eventually, I’m going to need you to try some decaf, alright?”
“Oh, Ash, I’ve been drinking my coffee this way since before your mother was born. I’ll be alright, don’t mind me,” Grammy fussed, as she accepted the coffee from Ashlyn.
Ashlyn sighed in surrender. She loved her grandmother, but she was an impossible woman at times.
“Well, I’m off to the studio,” Ashlyn turned away from her grandmother and begin to gather her things that she needed for the day that lie around the living room.
“When are you going to stop working at the silly photography studio? I don’t like the way they treat you,” Grammy inquired, as she reached for the remote to better hear the morning news.
“Whenever I find a new job, Grammy,” Ashlyn laughed, trying to make light of it...but it really did bug her how disrespected she was at work. “Maybe soon.”
