Preface
There was once a time when certain creatures roamed the earth. Some mortals who knew about the gods, call it the the dark ages. Before human kind came to exist, the gods needed something to control the dark and the shadow, so three men were forged by the gods to control all that was dark. Them being made, humans soon came into the picture as a balance to the dark.
These three men could not be killed by man, nor gods. The eldest of them all suggested they find a place to settle, so they ventured down to the underworld and took only half of it, leaving the other half for the god of the underworld, Hades, as a thank you, as it was his domain. As the Melania's all blended into one, the eldest of the three got tired of an immortals life. Aphrodite's love could not satisfy him, nor could Athena's, so he left the second eldest to rule while he ventured up to earth.
One day as he was walking through the streets of Greece, he spotted a woman. An ordinary mortal weaving silk fibers into a scarf. As she worked, always saying hello to the passing strangers and giving a smile.
Everyday the eldest of the three would watch the mortal woman, her every movement as she flowed with her work.
As days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, he finally asked her for a silk scarf.
Him being a god type creature, he thought that when she gazed upon him, she would fall In love with him instantly, but there is more to human beings than he thought. She gave him the scarf, offered a short lived smile, then setting back to work.
Everyday he would go up and ask for a scarf, each one different, and each day she would give a smile, and set back to work.
Over the months they got close. Going on walks and going out to dinner, when he finally asked the mortal to marry him.
As months turned into years, they grew old and had a child.
She had hair as dark as night, skin kissed by the moon. To him, she was the light in the darkness, although he could not die, he was empty until this little girl into his world and turned things upside down.
As his wife grew old, he nor his child aged one bit. He could make his appearance look old, but in real life, he ws still the same, so when his wife came to die, he held her in his arms and wept. Wept for the love they had, and wept because it would no longer exist.
He took is wife and daughter down to the underworld and buried her by the river Styx. He could not bare to be with his daughter, so he cast her out onto the street where she would sleep for a Melania without being touched or harmed.
As he left her, he could not believe how much love a monster like him could have for the little bundle that was his daughter, but little did he know as he walked away, that something so small would one day have the power to destroy him.
