Chapter 31 Shadow...and a mate?

After learning that I knew and was bestfriends with one of the only creatures that were designed to kill us, Lena called everyone into the room. Carlisle came first, walking in and jumping on the bed next to me making me laugh.

"Hey sweety!" he says smiling, which makes me laugh. Rath walks in with Eddy and Ness. They make themselves comfy as we wait for Kaelib and Kat. Just thinking of him made my insides burn with excitment. I feel Carlisle playing with my hair, making me look up and poke the tongue at him. The door opens, and Kaelib walks in, with a giggling Kat, who realizes where she is and blushes a deep red. I feel a little pang of jealousy along with hurt. I mean, its not like he's mine or anything...

but you wish he was

Severus says. I look over at him, my Heart slightly aching.

I do sev. I really do.

I sigh out loud which makes everyone look at me. I give a wobbly smile then look at Lena.

"Welp! Turns out, that Shadow over here, personally knows Lucas deprevér. The first Lycan of his kind to ever exist, which makes me wonder how old you exactly are." she directs the last part at me. I stare back at her.

"I don't know, ask him" I say pointing to Severus who looks up lazily, then rests his head against his paws. I narrow my eyes at him, sighing. I can feel Carlisles eyes on me, and I look up, his eyes catching mine. I give him a questioning look. He shakes his head, but then continues to play with my hair.

Carlisles p.o.v

I watch her as I play with her soft black locks, twisting and plaiting them together. I hear the door open, and instead of lookng at the door I watch her face. It goes from hopefull, to in pain. My Heart breaks alittle to see her like this. I had known ever since Kaelib first mentioned Shadow, that they were mates. He knew, but she didn't, and she was getting confused. Seeing her confused made me mad. She deserved to be treated better than what her mate was treating her like. I watch her closley as she speaks, her mind trying to focus but not quite being able to. She looks up at me, her eyes questioning me, but I shake my head and get back to playing with her hair. I made a vow right then and there, that I would do anything for this girl, even if it killed me.

Kaelibs p.o.v

I couldn't help but see the look on her face when I walked in with Kat. Its the look that a child gets when he finds out his pet died. Her beautiful face was hopefull, before it turned into a pained expression. I longed to hug her, to kiss her, but he was there. Sitting very close my MY mate, playing with her hair. That should be me!! I couldn't help but stare at her. The way she held the pain, as if it wasn't there. She looks up at Carlisle, who is staring intently at her. I feel my head fill with cuss words and violent thoughts as he smiles down at her and keeps playing with her hair.

"Kaelib?" I hear someone say my name.. I look up and see Lena staring at me frowning.

"What?" I spit out angrily. She goes to say something, but a voice cuts in.

"Don't speak to her like that" I look over at Shadow, who is frowning at me, but then blushes realizing what she had just done.

"Outside. Now" Lena demands. I clench my jaw tight and follow her out into the Hallway. She whirls around on me with an angry expression.

"Since when did you start wanting to kill Carlisle?" She says mad. I grind my teeth together, clenching my fists.

"None. Of. Your. Bussiness." I say in slow deep breaths, trying to calm down. she waves a finger in my face.

"It is my business when you want to kill one of my bestfriends!" She says stamping her foot imaptiently. Her scrunched up nose and squinted eyes made me want to laugh, but I was to angry.

"I see the way you look at him. Shooting daggers at him, seeing little plots of how you're going to hurt him, What's he doing to you that's making you act like this?" I feel angry. Mad. Bitter. Sour. She watches my eyes change from their normal blue to black, and hers also change black, her teeth also elongating. This was because her mother was half chæmera. She hisses at me and speaks, her voice echoing itself.

"I love you brother, but I will hurt you if I have to." I feel my body tense as she starts to crouch. The door bursts open and Rath steps in between us, his eyes changing black, his teeth also elongating, due to being twins with Lena.

"don't start anything you two." He says in a two voices. I growl at him, Feeling my skin crackle with lightning. Our father had a thing for supernatural women who could shift their forms. The sound of crackling fills the air, and Ness and Carlisle run out, Ness automatically changing her eyes and her form to that of half human, half snake, hissing. All I see is Carlisle, and I growl at him. He turns his head slightly, never taking his eyes off of me. He closes the door, my mate in the other room.

"its ok guys. This fight is between me and him" he says as his eyes change to black, and his whole body ripples, before he is set on fire. That's Right. Carlisle was a flaminb ball of fire. I growl before I lunge at him, my skin crackling purple electricty. He steps to the side, putting his hand in my head slamming it into the ground. I hear a feint crack, but I know its not me, its the floor. I feel slightly dizzy from the impact, but stand up, and in the doorway, is my mate, her eyes not black....but white.

Shadows p.o.v

I open the door, and all I see, is red and purple forms racing at eachother, the red form slamming the purple form into the ground. I feel my insides get hot, and I feel my vision change, everything heightens, and the forms look at me. I am no longer in control of m body as I walk up to the red form and grab it around the throat. I look, and I know that it is Carlisle and that I should let him go, but my body won't let me.

"If you ever hurt my mate again, I will tear you limb from limb" a voice says. It almost sounded like....mine. But why would I say that? and what's a mate??

my head looks down at Kealib, his black eyes slowly changing from ther black to their blue, my Heart melting. My hand drops Carlisle as I walk over to Kaelib and caress his cheek. I have no idea why I'm doing this, I know I'm not in control of my body, which makes me wonder who was. I slowly feel myself return to normal as I look into Kaelibs eyes, my hand still resting on his cheek.

"Hi" he whispers quietly as he reaches his hand up and rests his hand on top of mine, leaning his cheek further into my hand.

"Hi" I whisper back blushing. He pulls our hands away, not letting go of mine, and stands up, still looking at me. I blush as I look away, seeing Carlisle holding his neck coughing. I feel my eyes widen as I rush over to Carlisle, kneeling down by him.

"oh my gosh, I'm sooo sorry! I had no idea what I was doing!" I say feeling worried that he was hurt. he coughs, but it also sounds like laughing. He looks up at me, laughing! oh the nerve of him! I slap his head as he rolls around on the floor laughing.

"why are you laughing?!" I say frowning annoyed.

"Because your Shadow self is scary as hell!" I slap his head again as he continues to laugh.

"How bout I call her back then?" Carlisle shuts his mouth poking the tongue at me, as I laugh this time. I look up to see Kaelib staring at me confused. I get up smiling, feeling a pull towards him as I walk towards him, tingles sparking up in my hand as I grip his. His eyes change from confused, to one of happiness, as he gives a crooked smile, making my knees weak. His hand engulfs my small one, making it warm and comfortable. Then I remember something.

"Guys......what's a mate?"
