"Hey Sap, wake up."
I blinked feeling something against my cheek and opened my eyes realising I was in a car, why the hell was I -oh zoo. I moved my head the same time Tristan leaned in and banged my forehead against his nose.
"Fuck."
"Ow," I grumbled lifting up my hand to my forehead, "God you have a strong head."
"What are you talking about you broke my nose."
I looked up just to make sure he was joking, he was but his hand covered his nose, "Why the hell were you leaning in, your fault."
"I was trying to unbuckle you cause you sleep like a fucking rhino, we're here."
And by here he meant home, oh, I unbuckled myself getting out grabbing my bag, "Where is Carly?"
"I dropped her off first since you fell asleep." I grabbed the monkey as well realising how late it actually was, I nearly felt disorientated as I stepped onto the kerb.
"Is your nose okay?"
"What do you think?" he snapped slamming the door shut and I frowned, "You have a fat head."
I raised my bag smacking his shoulder earning another groan from him, "You don't have to be such a jerk sometimes."
"Whatever," he pulled his hand away from his nose and once I saw that his nose as completely fine I walked towards the door. Sure enough mum was already inside cleaning the house, something she often did when she got bored.
"Hey kids!" She smiled looking up as she put the case back, "Tristan, are you staying for dinner?"
"Are you cooking?" I questioned as I looked at Tristan who looked uneasy beside me.
"No Rose is."
"Then he can," I nodded and then looked at him, "If you want." I said realising I had practically answered for him.
He gave me a half shrug, "That's fine I'll stay for a bit."
"What's that Saph?" mum said eyeing the monkey in my hand and I smiled holding it up as Tristan rolled his eyes.
"Isn't he cute?"
"He? I didn't know soft toys have genders."
* * *
"You ate dinner and dessert, go already."
Tristan looked up from my bed as he mucked around with my monkey, "Eager to get me out much?"
I spun in my computer chair looking up at the roof looking at all the glow in the dark stickers I had put up with dad when I was a kid.
"Don't you have friends to hang out with."
"Ouch, I'm just being nice to you." he said holding the monkey to his heart like he was wounded.
I rolled my eyes looking at him "Why is this monkey so long?"
"Leave the poor monkey alone," I leaned over snatching the soft furry animal out of his hands. I patted the ears back down. "I think it's cute."
Tristan scoffed stretching on my bed grabbing a pillow to fiddle with, "I think it's cute as well, how some underpaid kid in Chine spent his sweat and tears and blood making that stuffed toy that was sold five times the cost to you."
"Tristan."
"Whatever. I better go," he looked at his clock jumping up from my bed throwing the pillow, "Later's kid." He ruffled my hair and I slapped his hand away.
