Rowen and her best friends, Jason and Maria, live relatively normal lives. Not very popular, not the most stable family-wise...but they've always had each other. Until a mysterious boy turns up in their favorite forest clearing claiming he is a faerie and with the wings to prove it. He has come to take Maria--a faerie princess--back to her kingdom, and brings Rowen and Jason, too. They happen to arrive at a bad time--a war between faeries and a few of the minority monster groups breaks out. Rowen, Jason, and Maria are thrown into the thick of it, along with their newfound friend, Ayren. When Maria is kidnapped, however, the remaining friends discover Rowen is the focus of an ambience prophecy, with Jason an important figure, too. Now, the duo must train under Ayren to build up the strength to rescue Maria and end the war once and for all.
