Sage is in an institute for the mentally insane because of a crime the other girl told her to do. The other girl? A voice that resides in Sage's head, taking over at random and forcing her to do terrible things. Now, Sage is being shipped out into space along with a few other inmates when they are intercepted and kidnapped into a strange, literally alien world.
