Learning to Love Right Chapter 7

I woke up the next day and snuggled closer into the person that held me. Then my eyes shot open and I tried to pull away.

"Whoa love careful you don't want to fall" Nik said pulling me back into his embrace.

"Let...me go" I said struggling to escape. Then I quickly as possible climbed down the tree and fled though I could hear Nik close behind.

He grabbed my wrist and made me turn to face him.

"Caroline why are you running? I thought after last night..." he trailed off.

"Yeah I thought so too but your still with Tatia" I spat and continued in the opposite direction.

"Caroline" he said grabbing me again "it's you that I want not her. She already has Elijah and I'm sick of her going between us." He looked so sincere but I didn't know whether to believe him.

"How do I know that your not bluffing"?

"I'll prove it to you. Today I'll tell her that it's over. Then I can be with you" he said placing a kiss on my lips.

We both smiled and made our way back to the village. When we returned everyone was buzzing at our disappearance.

"Caroline, Nik" Rebekah called rushing over and hugging us both.

"I was so worried. Uh Caroline Ric is a mess" she said hugging us again.

I looked at Nik "Go I'll be waiting for you" he said I ran to Ric's side.

After the crowd had dispersed Mikael called us all to gather around.

Rebekah, Kol, and I emerged for our hut last. I looked to Mikael and then I froze. Nik and Tatia stood hand in hand.
