Turn the radio on
Just loud enough
to drown out the quiet
Keep it down, down,
down to a murmur,
a mumble, a whisper.
Like a foreign language,
Words my ears don't recognize
Just enough to drown out my own thoughts
Blank static filling the air,
traveling down the endless stretch of road,
Spreading throughout the darkness.
Darkness my headlights barely cut through
The fog's so thick, it feels like I'm suffocating -
like I'm the only one left alive in this world.
Then that car radio.
That car radio brings
me back to where I am and where I want to be.
Keep it on, just enough to forget where I am
Keep it on, just enough to blend with the wind
Keep it on, just enough.
