Chapter 5: Uh Oh

We had an UH OH! How am I gonna tell Steve?! Oh god! Okay I'll explain why I'm freaking out: I'm almost 18 and I'm 7 weeks pregnant! Please tell me how do I tell a super soldier about me being pregnant and it's his. I think I'll wait awhile. No I can't wait awhile. I need to tell him! How am I suppose to do this? I'm nervous about it. He said he didn't want to bring a child into this world of chaos at the moment. I walked out of the bathroom after throwing my guts up into the toilet. I walked over to Sam and grabbed his arm pulling into the hallway.
"What's up Flame Brain?" He asked smiling.
"We have an issue. Like I made a big Uh Oh" I said.
"What is this Uh Oh?" He asked.
"How do you tell a super soldier that you're pregnant and it's his?" I asked and his eyes widened.
"Y-you're pregnant?" He asked smiling widely, "if it's a boy the name better be Sam."
"You're avoiding my question. How do I tell Steve?" I asked.
"Just tell him and then run" he said.
"Should I leave a note?" I asked.
"Wait Dark Fire here is Preggers?" Scott asked walking into the hallway. Sam covered his mouth and pulling him into our little area.
"Yes now shut up about it" I hissed and looked around the corner to see Steve talking to Bucky, "we can't let him know."
"Why?" Scott asked.
"Yesterday Steve said that he didn't want to bring a child into this world of chaos" I explained to the two.
"Okay. But what if we just tell him and you can explain it to him later" Sam suggested.
"That's a really st-" before I could finished Scott and Sam were standing and walking over to Steve, "oh crap!" I speed walked down the hallway towards the bathroom and closed the door. What if I contact Nat? Wait... She's on Tony's side. CLINT! I could call Clint! I grabbed my phone and dialed Clint's number.
"Hello?" Clint asked tiredly as on the other end you could hear a baby crying.
"Hey. I need a favor" I said smiling but he couldn't my smile through the phone.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"Welllllllll.... Let's just say I'm hiding in the bathroom and I may or not be pregnant with Steve's baby" I said.
"Oh wow! Uh! Maybe I could let you come stay here at the farm with Laura. I don't know. Steve would want what's best" Clint explained.
"How do I tell him?" I asked but the question was taken away as someone knocked on the bathroom door.
"Alena?" Steve asked and I cursed under my breath.
"I gotta go" I told Clint before hanging up the phone. I slowly unlocked the door and stared up at the super soldier. I laughed nervously, "hey honey." Can I be more awkward about this?!
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked pushing through into the bathroom and closing the door behind him. I sank down to the floor put my head against the door.
"I just found out" I mumbled.
"This isn't some place for a baby. It's dangerous" he said sitting down next to me.
"I don't know what I'm suppose to do" I said with my head in my hands.
"What if you go to Asgard for a little but until all of this passes over?" He suggested.
"No. I wanna help" I said.
"Alena it's too dangerous. For you and the baby" he said.
"I'm from Asgard" I told him and he smiled before pulling me close to him.
"I hope it's a girl" he whispered.
"Boy" I whispered back.
"Girl" he whispered.
"I am not fighting with you over the gender!" I said before standing up and helping him stand as well.
"When all of this is over... I promise I'll spend less time as an Avenger but more time as dad and a great boyfriend" he said resting his forehead against mine.
"Of course" I said with a big smile. We walked out of the bathroom and saw Scott with someone by his side. A little someone.
"You're DARK FIRE!" The little girl said with excitement as she ran towards me.
"Who's this?" I asked as she hugged my leg.
"My daughter. Cassie" Scott answered. I happily picked up Cassie and balanced her on my hip with a smile.
"You're my second favorite superhero" she told me.
"Oh really? Who's your first?" I asked.
"My dad" she said smiling as Scott walked away for a little bit.
"Do you know Captain America?" I asked turning around to let her look at Steve. Her face erupted with a big smile. I let her down slowly and she ran over to him. I watched as Steve picked her up gently not wanting to hurt her.
"You're my third favorite" she said and Steve gave a fake shocked expression.
"What?! I should be your second!" He said making her giggle, "who's your least favorite?"
"Iron Man" she said and I started laughing.
"Good choice" I said with a smile but our little happy moment was interrupted. Sam and Scott ran into the room with looks that told me everything I needed to know. I took Cassie from Steve as he ran to go get suited up. Bucky stood up quickly and Steve ran over and told him what was happening.
"Get her to safety" Scott told me and I nodded to him before running down the hallway as Cassie buried her face in my neck. I found the door that led to the escape. I set Cassie down and pulled open the escape hatch. I let Cassie down first before I followed after her and closed the hatch. I turned on the lights and the dim lights began to flicker on. I looked over at Cassie you hugged the teddy bear close to her chest.
"Is my daddy gonna be okay?" She asked.
"He's gonna be fine, Sweetie. Come on. Let's get you come where safe" I said before the two of us started running down the long tunnel. I hoped Steve and the others would be okay. Clearly Steve didn't want me to fight. I was fine with protecting Cassie. We stopped and took a break to catch our breath. Cassie sat down and laid her head against the wall. The lights started to flicker and then they went off. Cassie let out a yelp so I decided to light my hand on fire to provide a little light.
"Wow" she whispered admiring the flames in my hand.
"Come on. The end of the tunnel couldn't be too far" I said as I touched her head with my hand that was not engulfed in flames. We decided to walk since she was still tired from running.
"So you can control fire?" She asked and I nodded in response to her question, "that's sooooo cool! My daddy can shrink and grow!"
"That's cool" I said.
"So are you and Cap together?" She asked and I nodded again making her smile grow. I noticed that her two front teeth were missing. I smiled down at Cassie before I stared straight ahead.
"What's your favorite color?" She asked.
"Red" I said.
"Mines purple" she said.
"That is also a pretty color" I said as we both heard something and she quickly grabbed ahold of my leg. She hid her face in my side and I listened carefully to sounds that were coming from the floor above us.
"What's that sound?" She asked in a whisper.
"Fighting" I said as I listened carefully.
"Captain, you seem a little defensive" said Tony's muffled voice.
"It's been a rough day" Steve answered. Don't hurt him, Tony. I swear if he hurts Steve I will kill him.
"Come on" I whispered to Cassie and pulled her along.
"Sir, I'm sensing heat below you" said Friday's muffled voice. I pulled Cassie faster along and I heard bullets being fired at the ground. I pulled Cassie close to me and turned the corner just as the bullets hit the wall. I heard Steve throw his shield at Tony and hit him in the face. I heard loud footsteps above and then the ceiling came crashing in front of he making Cassie scream. Colonel James Rhodes stood before us in his War a Machine suit.
"Rhodes" I said nodding to him as I pushed Cassie farther behind me.
"Alena" Rhodes said as his iron mask pulled away and showed his face.
"I can't let you hurt us" I said.
"She's gonna melt your iron butt!" Cassie said making me smirk and light my whole arm on fire. I felt a strip of my hair turn raven black.
"Yeah what she said" I said smiling.
"Rhodes! Come on! Get out of there!" I heard Tony yell over the coms in Rhodes's suit. Rhodes looked back at us before taking off out of the hole he made. My arm slowly went back to normal. Cassie hugged my leg and I picked her up before looking up into the hole that Rhodes made. I saw Steve looking back down at me. I handed Cassie up to Steve. I climbed up just as the strip went back to normal. Scott ran over and hugged Cassie tightly.
"Get her back home" Steve ordered and Scott nodded in response. Steve pulled me into a hug and kissed my head gently.
"Is it over?" I asked.
"Not yet. It will soon. I promise" he said.
"Alright. Next time I'm fighting" I said.
"I know" he said.

Flashback
I raced down the long golden hallway as I looked over my shoulder to see only one older brother. Where was the other? Next thing I knew my face slammed into someone's chest and I looked up to see the other older brother. Found him. "Hand it over" he said holding out his hand for me to give him his helmet. His helmet was golden with horns on it.
"Fine" I said handing him his helmet as two powerful arms lifted me off the floor.
"Now Alena what do you say to Loki?" the other one asked.
"My apologies for stealing your helmet" I said as Loki only smiled at me, his green emerald eyes twinkling with mischief.
"It's alright" Loki said as I was lowered to the floor. My two teenage brothers always picked on me but I returned the favor by stealing things from their rooms or playing tricks on them. My oldest brother Thor had bright blue eyes and long blonde hair that reached his shoulders. The second oldest, Loki was my personal favorite sense I looked up to him, he had dark raven hair and emerald green eyes that sparkled.
"So what shall we be doing today?" asked Thor looking at Loki waiting for him to answer. Being the youngest of the two I was never aloud to choose what we did. I'm only 7 in Midgardian years.
"THOR!" Our fathers voice boomed through the hallway as Thor turned and headed for the throne room leaving me with Loki.
"I'm guessing you want a lesson in magic?" Loki asked looking down at me, I nodded my head rapidly at the fact I loved it when Loki taught me magic, "very well."
"Can we go over teleporting? Or maybe we could do what we did last time?" I asked as I took Loki's medium hand in my little one.
"Let's do something easy, then maybe Thor will join us in some fun, but if he's still busy we could go look for mother" Loki said, I loved spending time with Loki sense Thor and me never had special time together. I pulled my dirty blonde hair into a pony tail to get it out of my eyes as we entered me and Loki's favorite area, the gardens. I know our dear mother would be here but she was not.
"Loki?" I asked looking up at my brother.
"Yes" Loki said as we sat down at a bench under a large cherry tree.
"I like spending time with you" I said blinking my blueish green eyes.
"I like spending time with you too" Loki said as I rested my small head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. I'm guessing we weren't gonna do magic today sense I was tired of running from both him and Thor. I fell asleep on Loki's shoulder in the gardens thinking nothing would ever change but it did.
