Unknown:

I sensed her. I could feel her every move. I couldn’t believe she did that. Only may be she didn’t try to think how risky it would be. Damn her, why can’t she sense the danger, the danger around her.

I opened my phone and dialed the number. It ringed and ringed. Why the hell he is not picking the phone? I slide the phone into my pocket and walked through the streets. The night is filled chill wind making my hair tangle. I gripped my jacket and started walking. The street is deserted. I looked around to see any suspicious one but none. Good.

I turned to my left side street and walked. I saw few people walking, I smiled at them. Finally I reached her house. It’s empty as I thought. I looked around and then to the forest. When I saw that no one is around, I concentrated on her.

Closing my eyes and picking her scent, I concentrated. My vision travelled through the forest, through the bushes and finally to the lake. What the hell she is doing in the lake? I could sense her completely wet and worried. Did I miss something? Yes, I could see another person there. Yeah, only that his scent is more strong than hers, which means he’s not the human.

I crushed myself for letting her into it. How stupid of me! I can’t go near her, it’s too way risky. I flipped my phone and again dialed the same number. And this time he picked.

Kate:

I saw him smiling at me. My mind was telling me to run but my body didn’t responded. It went numb.

“Kate,” he whispered slowly and dangerously.

“W….who are you?” I stammered but I stood there firmly.

“Don’t ask me questions. I hate them,” he hissed suddenly changing into completely anger. My heart raced and sweat collected on my forehead.

Suddenly like a wind, he vanished and stepped in front of me. I gasped and stepped back. Oh no, don’t say he is a…

“Yeah, you are right. I am a vampire, a vampire from thousands of years,” he sounded proud and smirked.

“What do you…you want?” I asked him, blocking my thoughts to think about Alex. I truly wish him to be here.

“I want you, I want that necklace and I want it today,” he gave me an evil smile,” if you behave properly and come with me, I won’t kill you,” I gulped and clutched the necklace.

“So like a nice lady. Walk,” he said and walked. I followed him.

He walked to the ruins which I saw while coming. He climbed them and I followed. After walking for little distance, he stopped and looked around. There’s an old broken well with stairs inside that. He entered the well but I hesitated. What if he kills me?

“I will not kill you, now come,” he smiled and walked down. It’s dark and chill. I carefully walked down the steps. Worst part is that he came read my thoughts and I can’t even think to escape. We came to the last step and he opened the wooden door. The door opened with the creak sound and cold wind rushed out. Odd smell came from inside which make my stomach to clutch. I covered my mouth to stop vomit.

He smiled and entered inside.

“Where are we?” I asked him walking along with him.

“You will know,” he said keeping his eyes focused on the path. Bad odor is filled in the room, I couldn’t see anything. He stopped and stood silently. He was breathing heavily. Suddenly the room was filled with the light coming from the fire stands.

This place is huge, old and dusty. A heavy and big, smooth rock is laid in the middle and surrounding to it, a small gap is made in a circle. It looks like a cave.

“This is the place,” he smiled and looked at me.

“Which place?” I asked him confusingly. What he is talking about?

“A ritual place. Sacrifice,” he stood before me in a fraction of seconds. I gulped. Did he just say sacrifice?

“B…but why do you require a sacrifice?” I stammered. What does he want from me?

“To bring my love back,” he sat on the small rock and sighed,” your great grandfather did this. Everything,” he hissed.

“You? I mean….” I couldn’t continue. So this is the guy from the journal.

“I waited for this moment. Waiting for you and this moment. And now I will get it,” he laughed which echoed in the room. Sudden chill ran along my spine.

“But how did you believed that I am going to help you,” I asked him confidently. His laugh turned into a frown.

“What do you mean?” he hissed and leaned close to me. I licked my dry lips, working my brain.

“I know about this ritual. I know about it, everything. You can’t possibly bring your love back until I sacrifice willingly,” I smirked this time. He studied me for a while. I know I am winning this. For a second he looked serious, but he suddenly laughed.

“I…I thought you would say that,” he became serious again,” you think I am fool. I know you would say that, so I made my arrangements already,” he smirked.

“W…what arrangements?” I couldn’t believe what will come next.

“Kate…Kate,” he smiled and cupped my chin with his hands and made me turn my face to a dark corner.

“Look there. Do you see someone?” he hissed. I focused on the dark path. Light travelled to that area and I found a man being tied in the chair with the strong chains. He was asleep or I can unconscious. I looked at his face. My heart skipped a beat. No, this can’t be happening.

“Alex?” his name passed from my mouth in whisper.
