sorry guys for the late upload................

Kate:

I saw the fear in his eyes. The way he said those word, I feared but it’s too late. I agreed for the deal whatever happens.

“Kate, you can’t do that?” Alex shook my shoulders and looked worried.

“Alex, it’s the only way to get out of all these and I can’t let you leave without your brother,” I held his face in my hands and looked deep into his eyes.

“Kate,” he whispered as he kissed my forehead, “all I want is you and I can’t lose you, never”

I don’t know what happened to my heart but it jerked. No one ever in my life has said those words to me. The person is standing right in front of me, begging me to not sacrifice. But can I do that? He came to London for that. He waited for this for many years. How can I take away his brother from him? I never understand what it is like to love your family but I won’t let down this person for his family.

“Don’t worry, Alex. He needs the necklace and some blood of mine, then that’s it. You can have both me and him,” I said excitingly. But still he shook his head.

“Kate, you don’t understand, once the vampire is awakened, he needs only one thing,” he looked straight into my eyes.

“What?”

“Blood. Human blood. Your blood” I gasped.

“I can protect you from taking away my brother when he awakens but what about Edmund. I can’t make sure he will do that?” he continued.

“But…he...” I shivered. Noticing that, he took me into his arms.

“Shhh I will take care of you. I won’t let him hurt you,” his voice was filled with promise.

“C’mon guys. It’s time. And doesn’t worry about what you are talking about. I will take care of her from Kate’s blood,” Edmund walked to us. When we didn’t move from our place, he kneeled before me.

“Alex, I know how much you love each other. But even I want my love back and I won’t let my Rose to have her blood. I promise,” he looked at Alex while gripping his shoulder.

I couldn’t figure out whether to believe him or not but Alex decided. He slowly released me and made me stood. He wrapped his arms around my shoulder and kissed me. It’s was just an innocent yet passionate kiss.

“I love you, Kate and I will protect you,” he again pecked on my lips.

“I love you too, Alex,” I smiled.

With that we walked to the middle of the cave where the fire was burning. Alex held my hand into his hands and waited. Even I waited for it to happen.

“Well well well…………. Looks like we have everything except me?” a voice trailed around the cave. It’s was of a woman’s.

Walking through the path which I had came early, I saw a woman in her late forties, wearing in tight fit jeans and black jacket. The only light was coming from the fire burning in front of me. I waited patiently for her to come. Edmund went to hug her.

“Elena? All set?” he asked her. She nodded and stood before me. I gasped as I saw her.

“Aunt Elena?” I whispered in shock. Damn, she is Shelly’s mother. What is she doing here?

“Kate? How are you?” she looked surprised or acted surprise?

“What are you doing here?”

“Sorry dear, but I have to do my job”

“What job?”

“Did Shelly never tell you about it?”

“About what?”

“That I am a witch?”

I looked at Alex, but he remained calm. He avoided my eyes and kept looking at her. So Aunt Elena is a witch then Shelly?

Before I could understand what’s happening, Aunt Elena stood before the fire and spread her arms on it. She closed her eyes and began murmuring something. I could only see her lips moving. Suddenly the flames grew more and then lowered.

“Alex, you need to make her stand alone,” she said with her eyes closed. I looked at Alex and nodded.

He thought for a second and finally released my hand. Before moving away he kissed my forehead and whispered in my ears, “Don’t be afraid, I will be there for you,”

He stood a few meters away and leaned back to the wall.

Aunt Elena’s chants grew louder and louder and also the flames. Finally she opened her eyes and turned to Edmund.

“Ed, the necklace?” she extended her hand to him. He handed her the necklace and stepped away. She kept the necklace in her palms and closed her eyes.

“Kate, I want you to listen carefully, I will drop the necklace in this fire and ask for your hand. I will cut slightly on your palm. Make sure only one drop of blood is enough. Only one drop,” she warned me.

“And listen I may become weak in this process but I want you to do careful, okay?” she looked at me.

And then her chants began. After few minutes, Edmund reminded her that full moon is right above us.

She took my hand and took out a butter knife. With one hand she dropped the necklace and with other hand she placed the knife on my palm. I looked at Ed and Alex; it would be hard for them.

“Don’t worry, they won’t hurt you,” she sensed my worry and she made a slight cut on my palm. Pain crept to my brain and I squeezed my hand. But I have to drop one blood. I held my hand above the fire and made sure it drop. When one drop fell into it, the flames raised high and I took away my hand.

Aunt again chanted but this time something happened. Wind crept into the caves and made leaves to float in the air. I shivered and suddenly the fog crept. I couldn’t see anyone and then suddenly I felt someone standing beside me.

“Alex?” I yelled. But no response.

I waited but I felt someone running as if in a fraction of second. Whom am I kidding to? There will be now four vampires.

Slowly the fog lifted and I could see clearly. Aunt Elena was leaning to the wall and breathing with closed eyes. No one was present in the cave. I went to her and laid my hand on her shoulder.

“Aunt Elena?” I shook her. Slowly she opened her now weak and tired eyes. She smiled.

“Thank you,” I smiled back and she nodded.

I sat on the ground and sighed heavily. Finally Alex had got his brother and now I can have him. Can’t wait to meet his brother.

Suddenly I saw a man standing at the fire. He was looking weak. Is he Alex’s brother?

I heard a gasp from aunt. I looked at her shocked expression. I could hear only one thing that came out of her mouth, “No, this can’t happen”

The next, I found myself watching the man walking directly to me, eyeing the blood that covered my hand.
