Finding Love In A Unorthodox Way

Chapter 10

The next morning, I woke up for my early morning run. I made a decision awhile a go to start running five miles a day. The decision was made when I was unhealthy and overweight. I use to always find an excuse to not do it. Now that I'm healthy and in shape, I decided to put that plan into action. I put on my exercising pants, a tank top, and a light jacket. May weather was always nice and sunny. I checked my watch and read seven o clock a.m.. My goal was to finish this run before eight. So that gave me an hour to run. I put my earphones in my ears. Set my playlist and started running. By the time I was finished, I checked my watch and seen that it was only seven thirty. I was proud of myself. I wasn't even breathing too hard. Troy taught me how to control my breathing.

Speaking of Troy. I made a decision to end my membership with Planet Fitness. Reason being, is that Troy accepted a job as Katy Perry's personal trainer. I don't know how that came about, I just knew that I was happy for him. I made sure, I stayed my full year so I didn't have to pay, to get out of the contract.

I ran all the way back home. By the time I reached my house it was eight a.m.. I showered, put on my work uniform, and went to make me breakfast. I ate my oatmeal and green grapes. I finished my morning meal, at around nine fifteen. I made my way upstairs, grabbed my purse and cellphone, and made my way out of the house. Work was only thirty minutes away. Mr. Bridge called to tell me instead my usual nine, that I didn't have to come in till ten. I had to stay an extra hour though. I was fine with that.

Thirty minutes later, I pulled into my personal parking space of my job. As I was locking my car up my phone went off. I heard Pharrell happy song blast through the speaker of my phone. I answered it before I looked at the caller ID. I really needed to stop doing that. It was just a hard habit to break. I answered the the call. The voice I heard back, made me smile like a Chessy cat.

"Good morning beautiful. I just wanted to say have a good day at work, and that I'll call u after you get off." Replied ADAM! I know a lot of people would say calm down, you don't really know him. I'm just enjoying myself. For the first time in a VERY long time.

I stayed silent for about thirty seconds after he said that. I then spoke with a elated tone.

"Good morning, thank you. I will. You do the same. Then I said in a teasing tone, you better." About him calling me.

After the call ended, I seen that it was nine fifty five. I practically ran the short distance into the office. I clocked in, and started my day.

Work surprisingly went by fast. Before, I knew it I was driving home. I made it home after five p.m.. Traffic was a bit bad. The minute I made it home, I took my shower, and made me a chicken salad. I went into my bedroom to get my phone. Then proceeded back into the living room. I forgot that my phone was on silent. So I turned the screen on, and seen that I had two missed calls, and two unread texts. I went to the unanswered calls first. It was one from Hales, and the other was from Adam. I then went to check my messages. One was from Adam, and the other was from STEVEN! I deleted his text before reading it. I then checked Adam's. He just said he was just making sure my day went by good. I smiled. I thought he's such a caring guy. However, I needed to talk to Hales first. Hales and I haven't talked in a full week. We were both so busy with work, and her getting her wedding together. I dialed Hales Numbet and she picked up on the first ring.

"KK I haven't talked to you in forever. We need to make a pack, to NEVER go two days without calling each other ok?"

Hales can be so dramatic at times. Which is one of the reasons why I love her.

I agreed with her on the pack. Then I asked her about her wedding plans. She told me she pre ordered the gown off line. It was from a prestigious company in Paris. She said that it would take seven months to get here. Considering her wedding was in seven months in one week. I thought how was she going to cope until then. She then asked how everything's been going since Steven. Or in het words that loser. I haven't actually told Haley about Adam. I didn't want to tell her till I made sure he would actually show up for a date. I think now is the right time to say something, so I did. I told her about how just as I was about to delete my profile, then I got a message. I then mentioned everything that happened with Adam and I afterwards. When I was done telling her about the date, and the magical kiss. She just said awww, and that she was happy for me. I of course told her to not get so excited about this. Even though I was. I just didn't want to jinx it. Before ending the call, Hales said she wanted her Bachelorette party to be soon. I asked how soon and she laughed before saying next SATURDAY. I just laughed and said that I would get right to it. I had to plan it, since I was her maid of honor. Then I ended the call. Hales and I talked for over two hours. The second after I ended the call with Hales, I remembered that I needed to return Adam's call. It was only seven p.m.. So I thought it's not to late to call.

I dialed his number and he picked up on the third ring. We talked about how each other days went. Then he asked when was I free again. I told him Saturday. So he made us dinner plans for that day at Olive Garden. I was ecstatic to be going on another date with Adam.He told me he would text me the details. Afterwards, I hung up, after saying good night. Adam and must've talked for an hour and a half. Reason being, is that when I checked my phone it was eight thirty. I decided I might as well get some rest. So I headed upstairs into my bedroom. I turned the tv on, and old reruns of Martin, the sitcom was playing. I had to be at work for my usual schedule. Bright and early nine o clock a.m..

I fell asleep, listening to Martin call Pam beaded beads haha. Martin was so mean to Pam I thought. Then I went into full sleep mode.
