Biting your lip softly, holding back tears. He takes your hand pulling you onto the bed, you squeeze his hand tightly. Deep in thought looking off into space, he takes a hold of your chin making you look at him.
"what's on your mind, pumpkin?" he asks in a soft tone.
"Everything..." you reply casing your eyes away from him. He snakes his arm around your waist, pulling you closer than before.
He looks you deep in the eyes "I'm serious." You give in, only because you are always unable to lie to him.
"What if.. What if we have.. a kid~" you trail off. He thinks for a moment.
"Then you'll be the best Mum there is." He smiles at you, you smile back.
"it really scares me.." you mumble into his neck, he kisses the top of it. "But I know that he'll be as badass as his father." you smile softly rubbing your nose against his cheek.
"Are.. are you telling me what I think you are?..." he stumbles over his words.
"Maybe," you look away then back at him. He has tears in his eyes and the biggest smile on his face.~
Sitting on the sofa, watching the little one play, occasionally the father messes with his son. Watching him stand and walk a few steps, the father leans in just far enough to reach his son and pulls on his smaller version of him selfs collar causing the little one to fall onto his bum. Frantically the baby looks around to see his dad who was silently chuckling.
The baby smiles realizing 'hey! that's my Dad' happy as ever he waddles over to him, pulling his pant leg, with a frustrated sound. The father reaches down with a smile plastered onto his face, lifting the little one up onto his lap. "Hey buddy," he nuzzles his nose against the baby's. did you come here for some cuddles?" the little one nods with that he is engulfed in his father arms in a bear hug.~
*tap tap tap*
I wake up, everything was a dream. The clock reads 2:45 am, I'd only gone to bed an hour ago.
*Tap Tap*
'Ugh?' I groan turning to the window, only to see Marks frantic face there. Starrteld I fall out of my bed with a thud. Blinking a few times then rubbing my eyes, once again looking out of the window.
Standing up I stumble over a mess of blankets, opening the window."Moring sunshine." His voice sounds undoubtedly nervous.
"What the actual fuck, Mark? Why are you here at almost 3 am? !" I loudly whisper grabbing Marks arm and pulling him inside. Noticing that Mark was only wearing pajama bottoms, a sweater and a pair of loosely tied boots. "MARK! It's freezing outside are you crazy?" quickly throwing a blanket over the shivering man before me.
"I couldn't sleep, y/n" he mummbels tierdly. I turn away to close the window.
"You could have called? Your ringtone is the loudest so I always hear it. Want me to get you something?"
"Y/n?"
"Hmm?" I answer kicking more clothes on to a pile in the room. Mark grabs my wrist pulling me towards him. Before I can do anything his lips are against mine."Y/n." He breaks the kiss. "Come with me to LA, I dont want to be without you anymore."
"I.... erm... What?" I'm stunded at the fact he asked this so suddenly. There are a thousand things running through my mind right now, and I'm not even sure I can give him an answer."Come with me to LA" He repeats looking deeply into my eyes.
"I can't.." I have school, problems to fix, a job at the book store.
"At least, think about it? Please for me?" He touches my cheek rubbing his thumb against it.
I cant say no to a face like that... So I nod in response. He smiles wide, wrapping his arms around my body in a tight hug. I feel safe here, in this moment. It seems like that I'm only ever safe or happy in moments anymore. Moments and memories."Oh," he speaks as if he's just remembered something. "I brought you something"he smiles, I'd forgotten how different he looks without glasses. He then pulls out a package from the front pocket of his sweatshirt. It was a box the size of the palm of my hand. From the dim street lights, I could just make out that it was a light blue box with a red bow.
"M-mark... you shouldn't have..." I speak softly touching the box carefully.
"I know.. but I just.. open it on Christmas day okay?" He combs his fingers through my hair, I nod to his request. I leave my spot on his lap to put the package on my desk next to my typewriter. He notices the large brass object on my desk."You still have that thing?" he chuckles
"Of course." I whisper nonchalantly "It's my most prized possession."
"R-really?"
"Yeah, it cost so much at the store. You must have worked your butt off for me..." I smile, he can't see it though seeing as I had my back to him. I let my fingers slid along the buttons gently pushing a few keys but not hard enough for it to type onto the still positioned paper.
"I did, I remember working school hours just to save enough to get it for you." I turn my head seeing him comb his hair back with his fingers in a fairly cool fashion. Realization struck me.
"Is that where you went during free periods in high school?!" I whisper loudly."Yes.." I'm fairly certain he is blushing.
"Well..." I murmur
"What?" he raises an eyebrow.
"If we are exchanging gifts... at least let me give you yours?"
"You.. You got me a gift?" he says completely awestruck. Nodding I stand up grabbing his hand and pulling him with me off the bed where he was seated. Quietly we shuffle to the door, Bo casually lifts up her head from where she was laying down in the hall. When she sees Mark with me she rapidly begins to hit her tail against the floor making a bit too much noise for my liking. With my free hand, I shh her. She in response to this lays her head back down wagging her tail a little less than before.
Mark quietly follows me down the stairs to the living room. Our fingers still intertwined. The Christmas Tree only had the lights in it.
"No ornaments?" He whispers very close to my ear after I bend down to grab his gift. His voice causes the package to tremble in my hands. "Sorry.." He moves away a bit giving me some space.
"Nobody was in the mood to do the tree with me today... Here." I smile holding out the box. He gradually takes the box from me."I'll open it on Chrismas day too." He smiles back. "And, do you want me to help with the tree? Cause.. we have all the time in the world!" He says excitement in his voice.
"Sure. But woah, how domestic did we become" I laugh covering my mouth not to make too much nice.
"Fear not m'lady for I am, domesticplier!" his superhero voice and pose only makes me want to laugh harder."Shh! my parents are sleeping!" I whisper yell.
"Sorry!"
"Here, if you wanna help me so bad. Here's a the box of stuff." I smirk. He puts down his present then takes the box from me setting it near the part of the tree is standing.
"Race ya." He adds playfully.
"It's not about speed, it's about placement!" I bump his shoulder as I take a take an ornament and start to hang them up.
~
Mark and I hung up all the ornaments, which was also a first time we did it together. We laughed and talked the whole time. By the time it was 4 am we were both out of things that could be put in the tree. The last thing we had was the star. Which he helped me put on the tree because I was too lazy to get the step ladder, he picked me up by the waist lifting me high enough to place the star on the tippy top of the tree.
You'd think after all this time we would have been done talking about things... But the conversations never end. One topic to another. It's wonderful.
"Swim in the ocean for at least 15 minutes or eat 15 spoons of mayonnaise?" I ask him from my position on the floor with my head on his lap. He thinks a moment taking a sip of the water I'd gotten him.
"Mayo.. defiantly the mayo."
"Really? You hate the ocean that much still?"
"yes."
"Fine..." I roll my eyes. They become heavier and a yawn creeps out of me. Until the everything just fades to black again.A/N: I am so so tired. I finished this at 1:35 am. I'm publishing it so if there are mistakes.... murder me.
