Part Thirteen

As Nate took a shower I pulled on his shirt and walked about his room. I opened his curtains and looked out at the view before looking at his framed pictures. He had about five sitting in his room and lots more downstairs in his livingroom. He had one of both of the dogs, one of Mali and him, Molly and me and the other two were framed pictures of the ones we had taken at the conventions. It wasn’t until I put down one of the frames that a small box caught my eye. I know I shouldn’t but I couldn’t help but be nosey; I picked it up and opened it to see an engagement ring. Three diamonds and it was white gold. I put it down as I heard the shower switch off. I pretended to look at his books as he came back in, he wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder. “If you want to borrow one, feel free, but bring it back when you’re finished” he whispered in my ear before he started to kiss my neck. “I’m just looking, doesn’t mean I want to pinch one” I said as I picked up The Chronicles of Narnia. “As you were saying” Nate chuckled as he spun me around. I looked at him, “I read this in English when I was at school” I said reading the back cover. “Borrow it if you want to read it again” he said kissing my forehead. “I just might, I might take it to Florida and read it before I go to bed or on the beach” I chuckled as I sat on his bed and watched him get dressed.

“Babe?” I heard Nate shout after me just as I opened his front door to leave. “Yeah?” I said turning to see him coming down the stairs. “Last night when you said I remind you of someone you know, do you know Chace Crawford?” he asked me. I looked at him before answering, “Yeah, my sister use to date Ed Westwick when she moved to New York, I met both of them a few times” I said. “You have a sister, you never told me?” Nate said, “It’s because we don’t talk, we were never close because she’s eight years older than me, she left for New York when she was 20 and I was still in school” I said as I closed his front door. “Oh, that’s a shame, I would of liked to have met her” he said as he backed me against the wall. “Did you ever get with Chace?” he asked me. I shook my head, “No” I whispered. Nate smiled, “Lie, you did” he chuckled lightly before kissing me gently. I kissed him back before he pulled away, “Okay you got me, we kissed, but we only kissed once” I said resting my arms on his shoulders and gently ran my fingers through his hair. “I think the girl who played Blair was cute” he said, “Leighton Meester?” I said “Is that her name? Hmm” he said cheekily, “Bad boy!” I chuckled as I gently slapped his arm.

I got back home and placed Nate’s book on my coffee table before taking Molly’s lead off her and heading up to my en suit to have a shower. I got up to my room and noticed my suitcase was a mess. I sighed as I pulled the few outfits together and put them in my suitcase neatly. Knowing me I’ll probably end up shopping and coming back home with twice as much as when I left. I kept it simple, a pair of joggers and a hoodie, two summer dresses, a pair of converses, pumps and wedges. I threw in my favourite cardigan, travel straightners and hair dryer. I zipped it up and looked for my passport, noticing it was still in the front pocket along with a small box I thought I had lost. I opened it up and found a silver bracelet that Nate had bought me back when we were in London for the second time. I put it on my bedside table and went for a shower.

I woke up in Florida on Sunday morning wishing Nate was next was next to me. I lay on my back looking up at the ceiling and sighed, “Happy 21st” I whispered to myself as I sat up and pulled the covers off of me. I grabbed a towel and headed for a shower.

Just as I got out of the bathroom I bumped into my Gran, “Morning Gran” I smiled as my wet hair stuck to my neck and shoulders. “Happy birthday sweet girl” she smiled kissing my cheeks. “Thanks” I smiled back as I let her into the bathroom. I walked across the landing to the spare room and sighed as I closed the door. I sat on the bed and pulled my laptop onto my lap. I logged into Skype and clicked on Nate’s Skype. I prayed that he was on; after about thirty seconds when I got no answer I decided to end it. Just as I was about to hit end call Nate’s face popped up on the screen, he was still half asleep, “Hey sexy” I smiled, “Says you” he chuckled as he yawned, “I miss you baby, I wish you were here” I said pouting lightly. “Baby don’t pout, I’ll see what time I finish at and I’ll see if I can catch a flight out, okay? Because I miss you like crazy” he said doing a hand heart. I did one back, “I love you Nate” I said “I love you too, birthday girl” he smiled. I chuckled lightly and smiled, “I wish you were here to give me my birthday present” I chuckled, “I wish you were here so I could give you your birthday present” Nate chuckled as he winked at me. “Gran and Granddad are throwing me a party, and I really don’t want one” I said as I put my laptop on the bed and sat on the floor facing Nate. “Not a party without your lover is it?” he chuckled; I just looked at him before sticking my tongue out at him. “I love you too darling, I’ll try my hardest to come down, I promise if I’m not beside you by the end of the day, I will be tomorrow, okay?” he said. I nodded, “Okay baby” I whispered, “i hate to leave you, but I have to go and get ready for my panel” he said, I nodded my head, “Okay” I whispered to him, “I love you darling, bye” he said, “I love you babe, bye” I said as we ended the call.
